Definitely a powerful run blocker. Has good hip rotation and is very good creating running lanes. Has good ability reaching outside blocks, then can turn his hips and take the defender wherever he wants. Has the capability to move up field very smoothly, yet is very stout at the point of attack. Has a quick pass set and is great at protecting the edge, also understands that sometimes you just have to let a speed rusher beat himself by running out of the play. A tough overall player and someone who can be relied on to get the job done.

Weaknessess

Not a great pass blocker. He doesn't get in enough of a power stance, so isn't always in balance and often lunges at defenders. When he lunges, his head goes down and he becomes very beatable. Not a real flexible player and that really hurts him when trying to readjust to who he is blocking. Very susceptible to an inside pass rush and D-Line stunts. He opens his hips way too much, so can't turn back inside and make the block.

Big Picture

Awosika has been a reliable and tough lineman for the UB offense, who is a bonafide road paver. He played both tackle positions in college, but with his prowess in the run game will most likely stick him at RT in the NFL. He was a major catalyst for one of the countries best rushing attacks and has done enough to at least fight for a starting job. He will need to work on some things, because he isn't really polished as a pass blocker. However he has enough skill, that he can turn into a formidable player. One thing that I think would really improve him overall, he needs to strengthen his core. If he does that, he will play a lot more balanced and should be much stronger pass blocking. He also needs to work on his kick slide and not opening his hips as much, because NFL defensive linemen will learn to take advantage of that weakness and he will have big troubles. These are minor tweaks though and I truly believe if can fix those couple things, he will have a successful career. He will definitely be a drafted player, but could honestly go anywhere from round 3-7.
