Strengths

Great tall frame for an NFL quarterback. Stands strong in the pocket and steps up to fire when facing pressure. Accurate on passes at all levels of the fields with a smooth throwing motion and a quick release. Reads the field smoothly and knows what coverage he's facing. Throws a quick release and a tight spiral with a great touch. Drops the ball into the breadbasket and hit receivers perfectly in stride. Doesn't completely burn guys with his speed, but possesses more than enough to get to the outside and make gains. Also doesn't go down easy, and is willing to take hits on runs.

Weaknessess

Can throw too far outside when targeting someone on the sideline. Had overthrows when being faced with significant pressure. Will sometimes go for the deep throw into heavy coverage and risk turnovers. Can throw too quickly on short throws without reading the field, leading to little or no gain. Occasionally takes off running before letting routes develop, and can get stopped at the line of scrimmage.

Big Picture

Lawrence has been widely viewed as the best prospect in the NFL Draft since before the start of the season. Constantly praised for his leadership and maturity. Holds a competitive fire, as he's never afraid to take a hit, and doesn't lay off the gas. He's an all-around package, as he has a fantastic arm and is dangerous on the ground with 18 rushing touchdowns in his career. He's won three consecutive ACC Championships, compiled a 34-2 record, and won the CFP National Championship as a freshman. When he's selected by the Jaguars, he'll be going to a team just starting a new era, and he'll be at the center of it. One of the most highly touted prospects of this generation, he'll have high expectations to live up to moving forward. He went through surgery to repair his labrum on his non-throwing arm in February, and is expected to make a full recovery by the season.

Athleticism:

8.1

Lawrence isn't a dual threat quarterback, but has the legs to escape pressure and can consistently gain yards on the ground. He fights for yards and is not afraid to take a hit, and could actually benefit from sliding slightly more often. Had more career rushing touchdowns than interceptions. Can make throws under pressure, and usually stays accurate while doing so. Overall, Lawrence is a very athletic quarterback, and teams will have to gameplan for his very underrated ability to gain yards and score often on the ground. Sells play actions extremely well.

Pristine throwing motion, with a smooth and fast release. Launches the ball with high velocity and while keeping his quick release with a tight spiral. Great delivery, always throws to where recievers will be. Extremely accurate passer, and is even more impressive in a clean pocket. Any throw he needs to make, he's able to. He can zip the ball with any amount of space and hit his receivers in stride for big gains. Maintains impressive footwork while moving. Sometimes allows his feet to get too wide on quick passes, but when allowing the play to develops corrects it. Had to deal with a lot of high snaps but played through well. Nice and light on his feet and can start moving quickly and surprise defenders. His biggest throwing issue is throwing too far outside on throws to the sideline, which becomes more apparent when he comes out of the pocket. He can also overthrow on deep throws with his high velocity ball. On most throws, however, he knows exactly where the ball needs to go and excels at getting it there.

He knows what's going on around him and where to move. On throws at or behind the line, he can lock onto his target and throw immediately, causing some TFL's. Highly productive quarterback, with 90 career touchdowns and just 17 interceptions. He came in from high school as one of the top prospects in history, and handled it very well. Won CFP National Championship as a freshman, in a blowout upset.

Very smart player with a high football IQ, always praised by coaches. Knows how to run an offense and can fit in a lot of schemes. Rarely makes mental mistakes. Almost never seems to miss defenders in coverage. Could use some improvement in terms of how fast he reads the field, as he takes some time to do so. Regularly makes the right adjustments to set his team up for gains. Will sometimes take off running without looking for other options, like moving out of the pocket. While he can gains yards on these, he opens himself up for sacks and hard hits while doing so. He does always know where his receivers are and where they will be on delivery.
