Strengths

Extremely versatile pass catcher that allows an offensive coordinator to use their full imagination. Rare 6'4 240+ pound athlete than can make big plays downfield or take a screen to the house. Assignment sound. Will immediately be a mistmatch at the next level.

Weaknessess

Lacks length and bulk for a traditional TE. His frame may be maxed out. Will be protected and moved around the formation as a receiver first; blocking will wil be a challenge for him. Needs to extend to catch balls outside of his frame; too many balls get into his body.

Big Picture

Likely is a true playmaker; putting a position label on him only does him a disservice. He will make an offense more dynamic from day one due to his athleticism, versatility, and ability to create mismatches. Not many teams will be able to cover him in man coverage with a LB or S. He's going to command attention every play and that alone makes those around him better. The knock on him is his relatively modest frame and strength at the next level. He compensates by playing the game with toughness and grit and isn't one to shy away from contact. Teams that feature a move TE, or 2TE sets will welcome his dynamic playmaking ability. I'd look for Likely to come off of the board in Rounds 3 or 4. He has the potential to be a 65 catch per season offensive weapon. He can put stress on a defense in a variety of ways and it shouldn't take long for him to see a meaningful number of snaps.

Athleticism:

7.25

Athletic; swiss army knife on offense. Receiver-like fluidity, flexibility, and body control. TE play strength and explosion. Has speed to run away from defenders. Looks natural in the slot, wide, at H-Back, or in-line. Too good of an athlete to pigeon hole in-line or H-Back. Plus speed for his size and will be a matchup problem for LBs. Shows some shake in the open field and has plus RAC ability.

Quick release off the of line. Smooth route runner that can run the full tree; looks more like a receiver than traditional TE on the run. Tendency to drift into some route and round the break. Let's the ball get into his body too much. Can go up and get the ball in traffic but doesn't high point. Elevates above defenders around him, boxes out and catches at the top of his numbers. Would like to see him extend and get the ball outside of his fram to maximize his length.

Blocking:

7

Willing blocker; punches and reloads. Can put DBs on their back (8:44 Q3 vs. Kansas). Plus blocker at the second level. Shows tenacity, toughness, and willingness initiate contact. Not a mauler in-line; at his best blocking on the move at the second level. Doesn't have the requisite power to move his man off the ball or consistently win in pass pro

Bully blocking on the 2nd level; pushes smaller defenders around. Dosn't go down easy in the open field and runs behind his pads. Motor runs cooler when he's on the backside of a play. Takes pride in winning contested balls

Intelligence:

8.17

Can move around to H-Back, slot, and in-line to create matchup problems. More of a "physical offensive athlete" than true TE; can make the big play. Very assignment sound; understands blocking assignments and delivers
