Strengths
Ferguson has elite ball skills. He has strong and sticky hands through contact. He has the catch radius and mentality to pull in any ball thrown his way. He is sneaky quick in space and has enough agility to create seperation at the top of his routes. He is as tough and as reliable as they come. He hold the record at Wisconsin for the most consecutive games with a catch.
Weaknessess
Ferguson's biggest downfall is his blocking. He lacks the upper body and core strength to hold his own as an in line blocker. He struggles to get a good run fit. His footwork as a blocker too often gets him out of position. Tries to lay the boom too often rather than fit up. He lacks explosiveness off the line of scrimmage. Needs to do a better job of finding windows and sitting in them.
Big Picture
Ferguson is extremely reliable and tough. He was a consistent piece in an inconsistent offense at Wisconsin. His ball skills are outstanding., He has strong hands and can make highlight reel type catches through traffic due to his 80/20 mentality and extreme focus. He is a willing blocker, but struggles to be an effective one. He lacks the strength and footwork to be true blocking in line tight end. However, his ball skills and high motor will be enough for a team to take a chance on him. He has a lot of upside and has the potential to be a dangerous TE2 for a team looking for a receiving threat.

Ferguson does a good job creating separation at the top of his routes. His release is good for his size. He has smooth hips and breaks naturally in and out of his routes. He has reliable hands and can come down with any ball that is thrown his way. He does a good job finding windows in the defense.
Blocking:
6.1
He has strong hands, but needs to work on getting a better inside fit on the defender. He is a willing run blocker, but his leg drive and footwork cause defenders to knock him off balance. He was not asked to pass block very much due to his role in the offense. He showed flashes of being an effective blocker at the 2nd level.
