Very agile and athletic receiver, with good burst to pull away from defenders. Knows how to get open when needed. Physical at the point of attack and not afraid to make contested catches. Great contact balance he has no problem with being jammed on the line, he is still able to get free and open. Fantastic recognition, he seems to always know where the opening in the defense will be.

He played in a mostly RPO offense, so didn't run a complete route tree. What he did run, he was very good at, he just didn't have widest route variety. He is not a good high point receiver, so doesn't have a huge catch radius. He will definitely make contested catches, but he isn't going up and over anyone. He can also be late when blocking. Though he is solid when he does block, sometimes he just commits too late.

Dazz Newsome is a very exciting prospect to me. I honestly think he has first round talent, but he didn't always have the platform to show off his skills. He is an extremely quick and athletic receiver, with the ability to turn a small gain into a touchdown. Displays great concentration when making contested catches and knows how to play a bad throw. He was definitely a safety net for his quarterback, because he was always the first option on 3rd/4th & short situations. He has good hands, but can be inconsistent at times and has some drops. I think he felt he always had to make a big play and would just get too ahead of himself, so I think just focusing on the ball will clear up that problem. Overall though I really like the skill set he brings to team and I think that the team that drafts him is going to get a special player. Especially since there is no combine, he might end up going lower than he should.
