Strengths

Palmer has the size and speed to produce at the next level. Not only is he 6'2 and 209 lbs, he's also projected to run a 40 in the 4.4s. Palmer also had the advantage of being the number one at Tennessee, so he got to run all the routes in the tree, meaning he has a lot of experience. Since Tennessee had a pretty lackluster offense, a lot of the production was just throwing balls at Palmer and hoping he makes the catch. This allowed him to showcase his ability to high point the ball and make contested catches.

Weaknessess

The only big weakness for Josh Palmer is lack of exposure. He does everything that you'd want from a productive NFL receiver. One knock on his game could be his lateral quickness and run after catch. He can break tackles beause of his size but he doesn't necessarily make people miss. However, considering his playstyle, this won't necessarily be an issue.

Big Picture

Right now, Josh Palmer should be a late day 2/early day 3 pick. While he won't be a number one on day one, he should be able to produce immediately. The senior bowl will be huge for Palmer. If he shows out in the week of practices and the game, then he could solidfy himself as a day 2 pick, maybe even in the first half of day 2. The teams that should be looking at Palmer are teams who have an established receiver but are looking for depth on day one.
