Blitzalytics Analysis

Line Penn State (-7) Over/Under 60 Against the Spread - Penn State (6-6) Memphis (8-5)

After two wins versus the University of Cincinnati over the last two weeks, the Memphis Tigers face the Penn State Nittany Lions in the first of the New Year’s Six Bowls. The one clear thing that sticks out is the strength of schedule for both teams. Sagarin has Penn State at 43rd and Memphis at 70th. One thing to watch for on the Nittany Lions side is the health of their quarterback. Sean Clifford is currently listed as questionable. It could be a more interesting game if he does not play.

The Degenerate Menace Says: The last time that Penn State played a team from the AAC, they got boat raced by a very good Houston team. Obviously, they are much better now. It would be hard to imagine Penn State having problems with a team that allowed 33 points to Louisiana-Monroe and 41 points to Tulsa. The Clifford situation is worrisome as Penn State only beat a dreadful Rutgers team 27-6 without him. I still do not see any real reason why the Lions can’t handle the Tigers, oh my!

Prediction: Penn State 40 - Memphis 17
