Blitzalytics Analysis

Line Alabama (-7.5) Over/Under 58 Against the Spread - Michigan (7-5) Alabama (6-6)

After tough losses to their rivals in the last game of the regular season, Michigan and Alabama meet up in the Citrus Bowl in this traditional SEC - BIG-10 matchup. This will be the first time in seven years that Nick Saban will not play for a National Championship despite the fact that he coached one of the best offenses in Alabama history. Michigan had a tough start to the season but picked it up in the last six games. Their biggest win of the season was a 45-14 beatdown of Notre Dame. Many analysts say that neither team played that difficult of a schedule and that the tougher teams were able to do well against these teams.

The Degenerate Menace Says: Normally there would be quite the issue with a back-up quarterback playing in a bowl game. However, Mac Jones spent much of the last 2.5 games tearing up the joint to the tune of an 11-3 ratio and 1,100 yards. He helped the Crimson Tide put up 45 points on a very good Auburn defense. Michigan’s last game was against a very good offense and they allowed 56 points in a loss to Ohio State. It really is hard to bet against Pissed-Off Nick Saban. However, the last time Alabama played in a non-championship bowl game, they got trounced by Oklahoma. I feel good about Nick Saban versus Jim Harbaugh in the match-up.

Prediction: Alabama 35 - Michigan 21
