On November 27th, 2018 the inaugural Alliance of American Football Protect or Pick QB draft will take place on CBS Sports Network at 8:00 pm EST/5:00 pm PT, from the Esports Arena Las Vegas at the Luxor Hotel. Here is a guide to the draft order that they will follow:
The Alliance will be hosting a quarterback skills camp for the league’s personnel to scout and evaluate their skills, Nov. 12-14 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
The draft makes each team decide whether they want to keep one of the QBs that has been assigned to them or choose from the entire pool of quarterbacks that have inked a contract with the Alliance. If a team decides to protect one of their own QBs, they announce that player as their first round selection. If they decide to pass on protecting one of their own QBs, they then have to wait until each of the other teams decide if they want to protect one of their own QBs. After each team has had their chance to protect a player, then the teams that decided not to protect a QB make their selection from the entire pool of QBs that have been signed to a contract by the time of the draft. The draft will consist of four rounds of picking, but in all, it will be 5 due to the initial “Protection Round.” Also take note that the Alliance has elected to use a fantasy football style of snake drafting throughout the four rounds, which is yet another groundbreaking approach in this league.
