San Antonio Commanders (1-2) at Birmingham Iron (3-0)

Where to Watch: CBS Sports Network

The Birmingham Iron returns home as one of the two remaining teams who are undefeated in the AAF. The Iron are coming off an impressive victory over the Atlanta Legends 28–12. On March 3, 2019, the Iron take on the San Antonio Commanders, who are looking to earn their second win of the season and remain in the race for the postseason. Meanwhile, the Iron are looking to continue their defensive dominance by “forging on” towards their fourth victory of the season. It will be interesting to see if the Commanders can establish a running game against the stiff Iron defense. Last week the Iron only allowed a total of 27 rushing yards. Home field advantage could play a major part in this contest, as Legion Field has been averaging one of the largest crowds in the AAF. Running back Trent Richardson looks to build on his performance by leading the Iron to victory with three touchdowns last week. The Iron faithful will be in full attendance to witness whether the team can continue their undefeated streak.

Players to watch

Birmingham Iron RB Trent Richardson looks to continue is level of play by providing the Iron with a reliable running game. QB Luis Perez will to increase his performance by taking more chance downfield to the Iron receivers. LB Beniquez Brown lead all defenders last week with ten tackles. Look for him to contribute to the run defense in the red zone against the Commanders.

The Commanders will challenge the Iron passing defense and score early during the game. However, the Iron will win and remain undefeated at 4-0 by another stellar defensive performance in the second half. Special teams and time of possession will be very important in deciding the winner in the game at Legion Field.

Atlanta Legends (0-3) at Arizona Hotshots (2-1)

Where to Watch: NFL Network

This Week 4 matchup features two teams that are both coming off losses. After starting the season as arguably the hottest team in the AAF, the Hotshots suffered their first loss to Salt Lake last week. This was largely due to a crucial injury to quarterback John Wolford, who is set to return this week. On the opposite side, Atlanta is still searching for their first win after a 28-12 loss to Birmingham last week. If Atlanta continues their struggles and can’t put some points on the board, this game could get ugly quick.

Players to watch

As previously mentioned, Hotshots fans can be relieved to know that John Wolford is likely to return this week. However, Arizona should still be cautious with him as they will need him for the rest of the season. With that being said, look for running back Jhurell Pressley to get his name called a lot this week. Also, if they get a huge lead, I could see them giving Wolford some relief and getting back up Trevor Knight some reps. For the Legends, quarterback Matt Simms must find his rhythm if they want any chance in this one. He will be hoping for a big game from his top target Seantavius Jones, who is currently fifth in the league in receiving.

Keys to the game

Atlanta Legends

Get to the quarterback early and often

Create early turnovers

Protect Simms

Arizona Hotshots

Establish the run

Get out to an early lead (get Wolford off the field)

Put pressure on Simms

Top 5 Fantasy Players

John Wolford, QB (ARI)

Rashad Ross, WR (ARI)

Matt Simms, QB (ATL)

Jhurell Pressley, RB (ARI)

Seantavius Jones, WR (ATL)

I don’t see Atlanta having much of a chance in this one. Their defense won’t be able to stop this high-powered Arizona offense. Also, they lack the playmakers to keep up on the scoreboard. I see Arizona having a huge day on the ground with Pressley while still keeping a steady rhythm with Wolford and the passing game. Arizona gets out to an early lead and it stays that way as they will win this game by multiple possessions. Atlanta will be left with a lot of questions to answer after this one as they will still be searching for their first victory.

Final Score: Hotshots 31, Legends 14
