It’s Mock Draft Monday for the fantasy football community!!! I decided to hop on my first one heading into the 2019 season! This week I’m drafting from pick #3 in our 0.5 PPR format. In addition to 0.5 PPR, Blitz will be releasing mocks from all sorts of league types, including 2QB, Standard, Dynasty, and Auction. These mocks are done using Fantasy Pros’ Mock Draft Wizard, and the roster settings for today’s mock are as follows: 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Flex (RB/WR/TE), D/ST (team defense), and K, with 0.5 PPR. Make sure to be on the lookout for more mocks throughout the summer!

RB: Christian McCaffrey (CAR)
RB: Devonta Freeman (ATL)
WR: Mike Evans (TB)
WR: T.Y. Hilton (IND)
WR: Corey Davis (TEN)
TE: Hunter Henry (LAC)
FLX: Chris Carson (SEA)

Overview
Strengths: There were some risks that I took with this roster so I am happy that I was able to get a strong core of players that I believe has a high floor of points that I can count on every week. CMC, Freeman, Evans, and Hilton should see a large volume of opportunities to put up points on a consistent basis. I have the potential of having two backs (CMC & Freeman) that can put up RB1 numbers as both will dominate the touches in their backfields. Hilton and Evans are featured in offenses that can get the ball down the field which can result in some big numbers throughout the season.
Weaknesses: My biggest weakness is my quarterback position. I typically prefer someone I can insert in the lineup and leave there until the bye week. But I felt like some player’s values were too high for my liking and didn’t view anyone left on the board as an every week option. Winston and Allen are boom-or-bust players that I am betting on one of them having a breakout season. Another worry with this roster is that most of the players outside the strong core do have questions surrounding them.
Overall: This roster should be able to compete every week but it is a boom-or-bust option for the entire season. One injury could derail everything and put the year in danger. I am betting on some of these players hitting their ceilings and providing some depth around my stronger players. While I personally prefer not to leave my draft with two QBs and/or TEs, I had to take a chance because of the concerns around the players.
Ideally, some of my depth pieces will hit so I can sell them to help construct the roster in the way that I like to have it ran. But as fantasy owners understand, there is always room for improvement so it’s not how your roster looks at the beginning of the season, but how it looks in the end.
