As we inch another week closer to fantasy football season, it’s time for another Mock Draft Monday! With my first mock draft, I am selecting with the 4th pick in a 12-team, 0.5 PPR league. Along with 0.5 PPR, Blitzalytics will also be releasing mock drafts from Standard, 2QB, Dynasty, and Auction formats. These mocks are done using Fantasy Pros’ Mock Draft Wizard. For this week the league settings are as follows: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 FLEX, 1 TE, 1 D/ST, 1 K, and 6 bench players in a 0.5 PPR format.

Final Roster:

QB: Andrew Luck (IND)

RB: Christian McCaffrey (CAR)

RB: Kerryon Johnson (DET)

WR: Antonio Brown (OAK)

WR: Keenan Allen (LAC)

WR: Marvin Jones (DET)

FLEX: Tarik Cohen (CHI)

TE: Vance McDonald (PIT)

D/ST: Minnesota Vikings

K: Adam Vinatieri (IND)

Bench:

WR: Golden Tate (NYG)

WR: Dede Westbrook (JAC)

RB: Matt Breida (SF)

QB: Philip Rivers (LAC)

TE: Chris Herndon IV (NYJ)

RB: Jamaal Williams (GB)

Overview

Strengths: The biggest strength that I see with my roster is at the quarterback position. I absolutely love that Andrew Luck fell to me. I truly believe that he could be the top fantasy quarterback in 2019 and will be a frontrunner for MVP. As for his bye week, I won’t have to stress at all as I have Philip Rivers coming off the bench and my lineup shouldn’t lose much production at all. I also like my top two receivers in Antonio Brown and Keenan Allen as they are both sure to be near the top of the league in receptions. It also doesn’t hurt to have McCaffrey fall to the fourth pick as he is the best receiving back in the league and should see a huge workload as a ball carrier this season.

Weaknesses: While my roster looks good at the top, it lacks depth. My running back group behind McCaffrey is very shaky. Johnson is a solid back but he could share carries in Detroit with C.J. Anderson, Zach Zenner, and Theo Riddick. Tarik Cohen is another option but he will split with David Montgomery this season. My running backs off the bench don’t look as promising as I’d like as Breida and Williams will also be running backs sharing carries. I also worry about the tight end position. McDonald could surprise this year as he will be the true TE1 this season but he seemed to go up and down in production last year. The jury is still out on his back up Herndon as well.

Final Thoughts: I’m confident that I can win with this roster. The four-headed monster I’ve created with Luck, McCaffrey, Brown, and Allen should pile up the points. I also have confidence in the Vikings defense as I believe they are due for a bounce back season. If a few of my players that I’m still kind of “on the fence” on can produce above expectations, look out, this team will be very dangerous in any league!
