Day 2 Mock Draft

By: Jake Leicht

Last night, the NFL Draft started with the Browns selecting Baker Mayfield with the number one overall pick. John Dorsey cited Mayfield’s pinpoint accuracy and competitiveness as being major factors in their decision. Overall, there were five quarterbacks (Mayfield, Darnold, Allen, Rosen, and Jackson) selected in round one. There were also several surprises last night. The Browns elected to go with Denzel Ward at pick 4 overall rather than pass rusher Bradley Chubb. Mike McGlinchey went higher than most expected after the 49ers selected him with the 9th overall pick. Players such as Tremaine Edmunds and Derwin James fell further down the board than most draft experts initially thought they would until the Bills and Chargers picked them in the teens. There were also players like Rashaad Penny and Terrell Edmunds that were picked much higher than expected by the Seahawks and Steelers as well.

With all of the quarterbacks and other surprising prospects drafted in round one, there are several very talented prospects available to teams in round two. Here is how I see day two of the draft going tonight.
