STRENGTHS

Josh is a smooth athlete. He flips hips smoothly and can use that to drop in to coverage. He is a long athlete, using his length to set the edge and play with leverage. He is a skilled pass rusher, using a bag of tricks to get to the QB. Does a good job of setting the edge when the ball comes toward him, then discards blockers to make the play.

WEAKNESSES

Sweat doesn’t always play with a high motor. He is slow off the snap, always being the last one out of his stance. He needs to put weight on in his lower half to help with anchoring. Most of his pass rush moves are all toward the outside shoulder, needs to continue to diversify his skills.

BIG PICTURE

Sweat is one of the best edge athletes in the Draft. He has speed and fluidity that makes him valuable immediately as a pass rusher. He could play special teams early on while he continues to get more well rounded. He uses his length well and plays with solid leverage. He has a good frame, and can add weight in his lower half to fill it out. Expect Sweat to be selected in the late 2nd- early 3rd round and contribute situationally as a rookie.
