Arm Length: 32 3/4"

Athleticism: 7.70

Q.A.B. / C.O.D. 8.00 He is athletically gifted when it comes to his quickness compared to others at DT.  Flexibility 6.50 After his initial burst, he sometimes has a bad habit of coming up in his stance.  Explosiveness 8.50 He excels in his explosiveness, he will wreak havoc in backfield, blows plays up.  Playing Speed 8.00 He is extremely fast for his position, he keeps the motor going, helps him win.  Coordination 7.50 He plays with a proper balance, can keep his feet after getting knocked off course.

Pass Rush Ability 7.70

Initial Quickness 8.50 One of the quickest first steps I have seen, he disrupts plays, forces double teams  Use of Hands 8.00 Does a great job at using his hands, will lock on, then shred or toss lineman away  Leverage 7.50 He will push lineman back when he wins, but can stand up if 1st move fails on him.  Pass Rush Moves 7.50 Has a variety of moves, he needs to develop a swim move, a lot of underneath stuff  Finish Ability 7.00 While he can get to the backfield, there are times he whiffs and misses the QB.

Competes: 7.33

Toughness 8.00 He brings it every play, he forces double teams, and will fight his way through it.  Consistency/Motor 7.50 Doesn’t show that he takes a play off, can give up if first pass rush move doesn’t work  Production 6.50 62 career tackles and 5.5 career sacks, while he has the athletic talent, need more.

Against The Run 7.58

Play with Leverage 8.00 He will get under lineman’s pads and drive them back, he can be a disruptor.  Stack and Shed 8.50 He has the strength to toss lineman to the ground, can shred, excels at this.  Gap Shooting Ability 7.50 His initial burst will allow him to explode through his gap, can be taken advantage of  Run at Him 7.50 He will fill his assigned gap, can make play, but sometimes runs himself out of it.  Run Away 7.00 He has the speed to close them down, can excel too fast up the field.  Tackling/Hitting 7.00 Can bring them down but can come into too high, they will sneak by him if he does

Against The Run 7.58

Instincts 7.00 He relies on his athletic abilities, never recognizes screen plays, just does job.  Learn/Retain 7.00 He understands his job, but will need to show he can learn new habits.  Teamwork 8.00 He brings his all every play, never gave up, even when they were down big.

STRENGTHS

He will come in as one of the more athletic defensive tackles in this draft class. He has an amazing initial burst which allows his to disrupt plays. This forced teams do double team him at times, which he even showed he has the strength to fight through. He will stack linemen, then not only shred them, but toss them to the side.

WEAKNESSES

When you watch the film, he does look a bit undersized for his position, it does show because if a strong lineman locks their hands on him, then they can take him where they want to go. He is an attacker, so he excels too fast upfield at times, misses screen plays.

BIG PICTURE

He will come into this league and be a great rotational player at the beginning of his career. He needs to bulk up a little bit more, but he can develop into a disrupter at the next level. If you turn on the Texas A&M film, he was wreaking havoc on their line, he disrupted plays left and right. He will need to develop more as a pass rusher, he can get the push, and get by with his speed, but if he loses the initial battle, then he will give up, and wait to see what the quarterback does. Depending on how the top half of the 1st round goes, I think he is a 2nd round guy at the moment, but could potentially slide into the late 1st, if teams need a defensive tackle. I believe if he can pull it all together, he has the ability to disrupt things like J.J. Watt at the next level.
