Green Bay Packers’ Offseason Blueprint

Updated: Aug 2, 2019

The Green Bay Packers were a disaster this season. Aaron Rodgers got hurt in the middle of the year. By the time he was fully healthy, they had no shot at the playoffs. The receiving corps did not do much to help him outside of Davante Adams. The interior portion of their offensive line was also a mess. Defensively, the middle off their unit of obliterated. Weak defensive tackle, inside linebacker, and safety play caused the Packers to suffer on the scoreboard. The fact that they have Aaron Rodgers, cap space, and multiple 1st round picks should leave Packers fans eagerly awaiting their offseason.

Free Agent Targets

Landon Collins- Safety (Giants)

The Packers need some attitude on their defensive unit, and Landon Collins is a perfect fit for their system. Green Bay needs to solidify the safety position in order for their young 2018 draft picks to realize their potential.

Rodger Saffold- Guard (Rams)

Saffold is going to be a very popular free agent given the fact that he is the best guard in the class. The Packers need to continue to protect Aaron Rodgers, and their offensive line was exploited up the middle against a pass rush last season.

C.J. Mosley- Linebacker (Ravens)

Much like the Landon Collins fit for the Packers, they simply need to solidify the middle of the field. Mosley is a fierce competitor who would change the Packers’ linebacking unit into a position of strength for the team.

Mock Draft

1st Round (Pick 12): Brian Burns, Edge Rusher (Florida State)

1st Round (Pick 30): Cody Ford, Offensive Linemen (Oklahoma)

5th Round: Jalen Jelks, Edge Rusher (Oregon)

6th Round: Ryan Finley, Quarterback (North Carolina State)

6th Round: Jonathan Ledbetter, Defensive Tackle (Georgia)

7th Round: Penny Hart, Wide Receiver (Georgia State)
