Early on the Dolphins got an early jolt from the return of star cornerback Xavien Howard when he intercepted a pass from Mason Rudolph setting up the Dolphins for a scoring drive. Scoring is what they did as Ryan Fitzpatrick hit Albert Wilson for a quick strike touchdown to take the early advantage. 7-0 Dolphins

As Mason Rudolph continues to struggle on the second possession the Dolphins continued to play strong as Ryan Fitzpatrick hit Allen Hurns for another TD to take a commanding 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

Taco Charlton continues to make plays as he forces a fumble on Mason Rudolph to stop a Steelers drive in the second quarter. Rudolph started bouncing back from a bad start leading them to a field goal to cut the deficit to 14-3.

Before the end of the first half, Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a dart to tight end Nick O’Leary that ricocheted off his hands right in the hands of the former Miami Dolphin Minkah Fitzpatrick for the interception. On the ensuing drive, Mason Rudolph hit Dionte Johnson on a busted coverage on a 3rd and 22 for a huge 45-yard touchdown to cut the lead down before halftime. 14-10 Dolphins

To start the second half the Steelers drove down the field but the drive ended in a missed field goal from 54 yards out from Chris Boswell. That drive was followed up with an ill-advised deep long pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick that landed in Minkah Fitzpatrick’s hand. His second interception against his former team.

On the ensuing possession, Xavien Howard went to the locker room and the Steelers took full advantage as Mason Rudolph threw a beautiful deep pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster for a long touchdown to take the first lead of the game. That capped a long 97 yard drive. 17-14 Steelers.

After the Dolphins failed to convert a 4th and short as Fitzpatrick laid out for the first but ultimately fell short, the Steelers sensed blood in the water and went down and scored another touchdown, this one a rushing score from James Connor to extend the Steelers lead 24-14.

On the next drive the Dolphins were driving until Ryan Fitzpatrick hit a pass over the middle to running back Mark Walton Jr., while he was running he got the ball punched out by defender Steven Nelson and the fumble was recovered by the Steelers. Ending that promising drive.

The Steelers then got a strip-sack and recovery from linebacker T.J.Watt as the Steelers start to impose their will on the winless Dolphins. The ensuing drive started at the Dolphins 23 yard line which ended in a 41-yard field goal from kicker Chris Boswell. Steelers 27-14

This Steelers ultimately took over the game after a fast start by the Dolphins. The Dolphins are getting better but it is apparent they lack the talent to play a full game yet. It was a great revenge game for Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick as he ended the night with 2 interceptions against his former team. The Dolphins continue to be on pace for a top 2 draft pick in next year’s draft while Steelers find themselves in the hunt for the playoffs after winning their third straight game.

Miami Dolphins 14 (0-7)

Pittsburgh Steelers 27 Final (3-4)
