Week 12 is officially in the books and hopefully you have survived and are now looking at who to pick Week 13 of the regular season for your survivor pools.

Again, I would like to remind everyone about What a survivor pool is and its rules. A survivor pool is a weekly contest where people select one team straight up per week to win their game. If a team that a participant in the Survivor pool chooses wins like the Chicago Bears did last week against the Detroit Lions then the participant in the survivor pool advances to the next week. But, now you can't choose the Chicago Bears anymore for the rest of the season. But if the team that was the participant in the Survivor pool chose the team that lost, like the Dallas Cowboys against the Las Vegas Raiders, then the participant is eliminated from the pool.

Now that we know the rules in a survivor pool, here are the Top 5 options, A trap Survivor pick, and a survivor pick that I would have gone with if I was not eliminated in survivor (Again, Why is Mike Tomlin still the head coach for the Steelers again?) for week 13 of the 2021 NFL season.

Week 13 Top 5 Survivor Options

Overall Record (41-14)

1. Los Angeles Rams vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Yes, the Rams are dealing with a ton of Injuries. Especially with Matthew Stafford as it is clear that he is nowhere near 100% as of now. But luckily the Rams will be facing the Jacksonville Jaguars who are one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. To add to it, an east coast team is traveling to the west coast which is a big benefit to the LA Rams. This might be the last chance to take them as they don't have a ton of future value in survivor. I would be shocked if the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the LA Rams in this game.

2. Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos

Yes, it is a divisional game and the Denver Broncos upset the Los Angeles Chargers. But this is a classic Andy Reid game here. He has always been fantastic when his team is coming off the bye. In fact, I believe his record off a bye is 19-3 in the regular season. That goes to show how good of a coach Andy Reid is that no matter how good or bad a team is they are well prepared once coming off of a bye week. The Chiefs are the better team and should be well prepared to win this game. Especially as the Chiefs are the home team in this matchup.

3. Philadelphia Eagles at New York Jets

Did you know that the Eagles have never lost to the New York Jets in their entire history? It is crazy that they have never lost to the New York Jets ever. I expect that the Eagles once again defeat the New York Jets. The Eagles are the better team on offense, defense, and special teams. I am not going to say coaching because I have not been a fan of Nick Sirianni. Saleh has been disappointing but there on the same tier of coaching for now. Even though the Jets are the home team they are still a complete mess and Zach Wilson has been extremely rusty since he returned to injury.

4. Arizona Cardinals at Chicago Bears

Arizona bye week could not have come at a better time due to both DeAndre Hopkins and QB Kyler Murray dealing with injuries. I think that they will be healthy and ready to go. This team has had an extra week to prepare for the Chicago Bears who are a mess. Do I have to ask Why is Matt Nagy still coaching the Chicago Bears? The players have voiced their frustration and have wanted Nagy gone from this team. This lockeroom’s culture is not good at all and I think their season is done. Arizona is another good pick this week.

5. Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

The Indianapolis Colts have a real shot in winning the AFC South. Especially as the Titans are dealing with a ton of injuries both on offense and defense. They're going to absolutely win as many games as they can in order to do it and luckily they face the Houston Texans who played down to the New York Jets. The Colts are better than the Jets are and they should have an easy time against the Houston Texans that are giving up the season in order to get a higher draft pick.

Trap Survivor Pick: Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions

The trend in Survivor pools this year is when in doubt take anyone against the Detroit lions. It is a good strategy as the Lions are a team that is still cursed. I am not a fan of going after division games especially when they are the away team. I don’t know what to think of the Minnisota Vikings as they have been extremely inconsistent this season. One moment they look fantastic against the Green Bay Packers and on another occasion they look bad and play games close against the Lions (A game they should have lost). The Vikings are also dealing with injuries as well. Dalvin Cook suffered a shoulder injury and who knows if he will play this week. I won't be surprised if the Vikings struggle and the Lions secure their first win of the season.

Record 6-5-1 (Week 1: Jax, Week 2: Cin, Week 3: Dal, Week 4: Ten, Week 5: Bal, Week 6: Pit, Week 7: Cle, Week 8: Atl, Week 9: LV, Week 10: Pit, Week 11: SF, Week 12: Dal)

Who I would of went with for my Survivor Pick for Week 13: Los Angeles Rams vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Week 13 has a lot more choices than in Week 12. I can't choose the Indianapolis Colts as they were my Week 9 Survivor pick. I want to wait on taking on the Kansas City Chiefs as they face the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 16. I want to wait on the Philadelphia Eagles as they face the Washington Football Team twice (Week 15 & 17), and the New York Giants (week 16). This pick came down to the Arizona Cardinals or the Los Angeles Rams. The Cardinals have future survivor value as they face the Lions in week 15. The Rams really don’t have any future survivor value excluding this matchup and I saved the Rams for this week. Patience is always a virtue so I will take the Los Angeles Rams for my survivor pick this week.

Teams Used: (Week 1: 49ers, Week 2: Steelers, Week 3: Panthers, Week 4: Bengals, Week 5: Vikings, Week 6: Buccaneers, Week 7: Patriots, Week 8 Bills, Week 9 Colts, Week 10: Ravens, Week 11: Browns, Week 12: Bears)
