Week 13 is officially in the books and hopefully you have survived and are now looking at who to pick Week 14 of the regular season for your survivor pools.
Again, I would like to remind everyone about What a survivor pool is and its rules. A survivor pool is a weekly contest where people select one team straight up per week to win their game. If a team that a participant in the Survivor pool chooses wins like the Los Angeles Rams did last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars then the participant in the survivor pool advances to the next week. But, now you can't choose the Los Angeles Rams anymore for the rest of the season. But if the team that was the participant in the Survivor pool chose the team that lost, like the Minnesota Vikings against the Detroit Lions, then the participant is eliminated from the pool.
Now that we know the rules in a survivor pool, here are the Top 5 options, A trap Survivor pick, and a survivor pick that I would have gone with if I was not eliminated in survivor (Again, Why is Mike Tomlin still the head coach for the Steelers again?) for week 14 of the 2021 NFL season.
Week 14 Top 5 Survivor Options
Overall Record (49-16)
1. Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears
This is the safest pick to make for this week in survivor. Especially as the Packers are the better team on paper. I don't trust the Chicago Bears at all especially as Matt Nagy is still the head coach of the Bears for some reason. This may be the last chance to take the Packers as well. They could rest some starters at the end of the season where they are facing the Vikings week 17 and Lions week 18.
2. Los Angeles Chargers vs New York Giants
I really like the Los Angeles Chargers this week for two reasons. First, the Giants may have to start Jake from State Fromm (Jake Fromm) at quarterback as both Mike Glennon and Daniel Jones are dealing with injuries. Second, the Giants, an East Coast team, will have to go to the West Coast to face the Los Angeles Chargers. Then again the game will probably have more Giants fans in attendance than Chargers fans. But I think the Chargers should destroy the New York Giants in this game.
3. Denver Broncos vs Detroit Lions
When in doubt, take the team against the Lions. Especially when this matchup is not a divisional matchup and the Lions are the away team. Say what you want about Denver but they try to do their best to win games. Even though the Broncos don't have a consistent quarterback or a confident head coach. The Lions had their 1st victory against the Vikings but I have a feeling now that they got that win they will do what they can to secure the 1st overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Broncos may be a mess of a team but they should take care of business and defeat the Detroit Lions.
4. Seattle Seahawks at Houston Texans
This is the riskiest pick to make in Survivor as both teams are terrible. The Seahawks and Texans are mainly battling to try and lose a game for draft capital. Hold up I just set a reminder alert for myself. It reminded me that Seattle’s Pick is New York Jets property. Well, that's not good for Seattle. But this is a great week to choose them as the Texans have to start Davis Mills as Tyrod once again is dealing with another injury. The Texans are eliminated from the playoffs and are fighting for jobs but this Texans defense is a mess. But the question I will ask is simple: Is the risk worth the reward?
5. Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars
This is another game I like as the Titans on paper are better than the Jaguars are. The best part of taking the Titans this week is that they are coming off a bye week. So the Titans will be healthier and have more time to prepare for this game. The Titans have a better coach than the Jaguars do. The Jaguars don't have much to play for and should tank for a high draft pick. I will be surprised if the Titans do not win this game.
Trap Survivor Pick: New Orleans Saints at New York Jets
Many people are going to pick against the Jets as they have been a mess this season. But the issue here so has the Saints. Imagine if they had consistency at the QB position. I wish Drew Brees was still playing as he should have 2 rings right now but does not due to the NFC 2018 Championship game debacle. But my goodness has the Saints been a mess since Alvin Kamara got hurt. I don't trust the Saints at all and the Jets are going to be the home team that wants to prove something while on their rebuild. I would not be shocked if the Jets beat the Saints.

Who I would of went with for my Survivor Pick for Week 14: Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears
This week has a lot of solid choices to choose from. I do not want to take the Los Angeles Chargers as they have a solid choice in week 16 as they face the Houston Texans. I want to wait on the Titans as in Week 17 they face the Dolphins and in Week 18 I am facing the Houston Texans. I just can't trust the Seattle Seahawks yet and they face the Bears Week 16 and the Lions Week 17. This pick came down to the Denver Broncos or the Green Bay Packers. I want to survive and go with the safe pick. I feel more safe taking the Packers over the Broncos. So the Packers will be my survivor pick for this week.
