With Week 2 now officially completed, there were a lot of games that had a lot of upset and hopefully you guys survived. As always I will discuss the rules for a survivor pool. It is a weekly contest where people select one team straight up per week to win their game. If a team chosen won, then they advance to the next week, but keep in mind that the team chosen can’t be used for the rest of the season. If a team that they chose for that week loses, well they are eliminated from the pool.
So now that the rules are set it is time for me to give my Top 5 options, a trap pick, and a survivor pick I would have made for the week if it was still alive.
1. Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders
This is a no brainer pick here as the Eagles are the better team in this matchup. The Commanders are a mess and that defense needs Chase Young as they are missing him dearly. I have given up on Carson Wentz and Jumped on the Jalen Hurts train. Philadelphia should dominate the Commanders in this matchup.
2. Los Angeles Chargers vs Jacksonville Jaguars
Yes there is a concern regarding Herbert’s health, but it looks like he should be ready to go for their upcoming matchup against the Jaguars. The Jaguars are traveling from the east coast to the west coast to perform this game which definitely has an effect no question. The Chargers should be healthier and ready to go for this game, which is a great choice this week for a survivor pick.
3. Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts
The Chiefs definitely go on the list for this week. With all the injuries Indianapolis is dealing with, and with the struggles that Matt Ryan has had it is very concerning. Kansas City is also clearly the more talented team here and should take care of business. The only reason why the Chiefs are lower on the list is due to them not being the home team
4. Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets
This would be a classic spot for the New York Jets to lose as they got lucky last week. The Jets have lost that game against Cleveland and did not look great for most of the game. The Bengals are desperate for a win this week and should take care of business against the Jets. If not then Cincinnati has a massive problem because these losses are starting to be telling.
5. Atlanta Falcons at Seattle Seahawks
This is a riskier selection to take this week, but as everyone says the risk could be worth the reward. I really like the Atlanta Falcons in this game and there are not a lot of opportunities to take Atlanta in the future. Maybe week 11 against the Chicago Bears, but that is all I can really see as another option. Atlanta should do well this week taking care of a Seahawks team that has struggled.
Trap Survivor Pick: Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins
It is very tempting to ride the Buffalo Bills wagon every week in survivor, but not this week. While Miami performed against Baltimore and New England, Buffalo as well has a beaten up secondary. The Dolphins have showcased that their offense is really good. Division games are also weird games to pick in survivor pools, unless there are no brainer picks. I just think there are better games to pick this week as it feels like a trap here. Avoid picking the Bills and wait till later in the season to pick them.
Record (1-1) - Week 1: Washington Commanders, Week 2: New England Patriots
Who I would of went with for my Survivor Pick for Week 3:Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders
It is too risky for me to take the Atlanta Falcons. I have no clue what is going on with the Bengals, so I will wait on them. It is tempting to take the Chiefs, but there are plenty of options to pick the Chiefs. This pick came down to the Chargers and the Eagles. I know its a divisional game and the Eagles are not the home team, but I feel more confident in the Eagles then I do with the Chargers, so I would have taken the Eagles in survivor for this week.
Record (0-2) - Week 1: Tennessee Titans, Week 2: Cleveland Browns
