Well The Trade Deadline was just insanity yesterday and for the next few articles I am going to be grading every single trade that happened during the deadline. So let's kick things off with one of the blockbuster trades. This trade involves DE/EDGE Bradley Chubb as the Denver Broncos decided to trade him to the Miami Dolphins. The details of this trade are down below.

Trade Details Miami Dolphins Acquire: DE/EDGE Bradley Chubb and a 2025 5th Round Pick Denver Broncos Acquire: RB Chase Edmonds, 2023 1st Round Pick, 2024 4th Round Pick

Miami Dolphins Side

Well I guess the Dolphins are taking the LA Rams approach of screw those picks. They did not really need another pass rusher, but Bradley Chubb is just way too talented for the Dolphins to pass on. All for a 1st round pick, a mid round pick in 2024 and a player is definitely worth it for a team aiming to make a deep playoff run.

The most underrated part of this deal is the fact that the Dolphins got rid of RB Chase Edmonds awful contract. He has not been utilized well and even when healthy he has not impressed at all. So getting rid of him was a plus so now the Dolphins can afford to extend Bradley Chubb.

Fun Fact this was the last of the Picks the Dolphins got in the Trey Lance trade and look at what the Dolphins turned it into.

Yeah I think regrading it for now the Dolphins win this trade. They got three superstars as a result of that trade. If I am a Dolphins fan, thank the Houston Texans and Bill O’Brian as this started with the whole OT Laremy Tunsil trade.

Denver Broncos Side

Nobody should be surprised that the Broncos decided to trade Bradley Chubb. Especially as he has 1 year left on his contract and the Broncos were clearly not going to extend him. The Broncos are an absolute mess and they did not have a 1st round pick entering the upcoming draft. The Broncos were desperate in getting the pick and thus Chubb was moved during the deadline. It is a big loss on there excellent defense, but it had to be done.

I do have to ask the Broncos a question though, Why they heck did you acquire Chase Edmonds in this deal? I don’t want to hear the oh, it is just because they could acquire that 1st round pick. Nonsense the Broncos could have easily gotten a 1st round pick alone in any deal for Bradley Chubb. Now the Broncos just added another bad contract in regards to their salary cap. Maybe a change of scenery will help, but the Broncos really don’t need a running back in my opinion. They barely utilize them well as is because of terrible coaching from Hackett.

Grades for Bradley Chubb Trade

Miami Dolphins: A

Denver Broncos: B-

I have to give the higher grade of the trade with the Miami Dolphins. They got a nice boost to their defense getting Chubb and even got out of Chase Edmonds awful contract. The Broncos don’t lose as they get a 1st round pick to help build the team and get out of a nasty contract negotiation. That is where the B comes in and the negative grade comes to them acquiring Chase Edmonds in the deal. Overall great move by Miami Dolphins GM Chris Grier and intriguing move by Denver Broncos GM George Paton. Hopefully the trade works out for all parties including Bradley Chubb and Chase Edmonds.
