Today the XFL revealed the information we all have been waiting on….the information for the XFL Draft as well as who’s been invited to be amongst the pool of players to be selected. Here is all we know.

When is the XFL Draft?

The draft will be a two-day event taking place on Tuesday, October 15th and Wednesday, October 16th.

Where to Watch?

The XFL Draft selections will be exclusively announced on multiple social media platforms as well as the official XFL.com website. The social media outlets where the picks will be announced include the following: Twitter: @xfl2020, Instagram @xfl, and they will also be relayed through each of the 8 XFL team media outlets as well. The XFL won’t be broadcasting the event on TV, rather each of the franchises will be making their picks via video conference to the league office.

How Many Players will be Drafted for Each Team?

Each XFL franchise will get the opportunity to select 71 players from the vast 1,000 player pool through a unique draft format that gives them an opportunity to make selections based on certain positional groups.

How is the Draft going to work?

This is an entirely new conceptualized draft style utilizing 5 different phases while using a fantasy football styled snake format to draft order. There is also one other unique flair to the draft as one QB will be assigned to each franchise prior to the draft starting giving each franchise a chance to get a face for their franchise before building their team around them.

How will the Phases in the Draft Work?

The draft will consist of 5 phases and they will be broken down like this (via XFL.com)

Skill Players (QB, RB, WR, TE)

Offensive Line (OT, OG, OC)

Defensive Front Seven (DL, LB)

Defensive Backfield (CB, NB, SS, FS)

Open Draft (All remaining players after positional drafts, in addition to P/K/LS)

Each of the first 4 phases will feature 10 picks each, putting the total amount of rostered players at 40 for each team before the open phase of the draft. In the open draft phase, the teams will select their remaining 31 players with no requirements on positions per roster in the snake format until the draft completes.

The XFL Draft order was based upon a lottery that was supervised by XFL Commissioner, Oliver Luck. Here is the official order…. (Via XFL.com)
