Players to watch out for in Week 1 of XFL (FanDuel DFS lineup analysis)

FanDuel has set up their XFL fantasy tournaments including games for just Saturday’s games (SEA @ DC, LA @ HOU) and tournaments for both days (TB @ NY, STL @ DAL on Sunday.) In this post, I’ll take you through my favorite lineup/players for week 1 and hopefully, you can cash out big time with me. FanDuel DFS lineups consist of 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR/TE, 2 Flex.
QB: Cardale Jones, $20. Former Bills QB has now joined the DC Defenders for what I hope to be a shot at redemption. He has the natural athletic ability which allows him to launch the football as well as use his legs to get some big yard gains on the ground. Expect big numbers from him in an XFL league which seems to be hell-bent on becoming a pass-first league.
Other notables: PJ Walker, $18, Landry Jones (check for an injury update), $20.
RB: Christine Michael, $18. Now, this name may bring back bad memories for some people. Maybe you’re experiencing a little PTSD hearing his name again, and understandably so. I want you to give him one more chance. We know Michael has the talent, we’ve seen it firsthand. I think being in the XFL will make all the difference for his stat sheet and in turn, your pocket might just get a little heavier.
Other notables: Cameron Artis-Payne, $19; Jhurrel Pressley $18.
WR: Jazz Ferguson, $11; Rashad Ross, $15; Sammie Coates, $20; Keenan Reynolds, $13. I’m using the rest of my roster spots on WRs. Jazz Ferguson is someone like DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks. He has the speed and strength to make him a RedZone threat from anywhere on the field. He is listed as Questionable to play so do keep an eye out for that. I think Ross is an absolute steal at this price. Frankly, I don’t know why FanDuel has him priced so low. He was one of the earliest picks in the draft for his big-play upside. Sammie Coates was a 99th percentile SPARQ athlete coming into the NFL draft and he has maintained his athleticism since then so we should expect big things from him. I am liking Reynolds simply because he is going to be the number 1 WR on the Seattle Dragons this week with Kasen Williams sitting out. More than likely, Seattle will be playing from behind which should translate to more targets for Reynolds.
Other notables: Nelson Spruce, $14; Eli Rogers, $13, Kahlil Lewis, $16, Jeff Badet, $19.
