Speed and quickness is evident when you watch him. Very strong in coverage and consistently is involved at the catch point. Teams were avoiding him in the game plans due to his coverage ability. Shows ability to play man or zone at the next level. I think there's some potential for a solid blitzer at the next level. Just too long and fast to not be effective covering space. Also may have some success as kick blocker and gunner at the next level.

Weaknessess

Not a very strong player overall, gets blocked more easily than teams would prefer. Hesitant to be involved with tackles or in pursuit. Has the utmost trust in his speed for good reason, but as he ages or if he starts getting injuries I dont think his game will progress favorably.

Big Picture

Father was drafted by Seahawks in 1997 and is currently assistant gm for Miami Dolphins. Stokes is a very solid coverage back whose game translates across both man and zone schemes. He shouldn't have trouble keeping up with any receivers at the next level speed-wise but could very well have trouble with the more physical receivers, especially in run defense. Doesn't do well in run support or in shedding blocks. His athleticism and length is the name of his game, but needs to drastically improve his mentality in the run game and when taking on blockers. Should be a good late round 2 pick for someone. His coverage ability is defintiely an asset but his flaws need to be addressed if he plans on being in the league into his 30's..

Ran a 10.39 100 meter dash in HS and won the state meet for 200 yard dash in Georgia. Has the speed and quickness to play inside or outside. His game is catered to his movement abilities. He's comfortable allowing cushion pre-snap due to his confidence in his ability to cover space quickly. Immediately one of the fastest players on the field week 1. I think he has decent special teams potential as a gunner/kick blocker.

Shown the ability to play both man and zone. Could have some success in cover 3 which allows him to use his length and speed down the sideline. Seems comfortable on his own on an island. Even if he missteps he's never too far out of the play due to his speed. Teams seemed to actively avoid him in their gameplan. Should be an asset at the next level here. Think he could play slot, he has the quickness for it. has experience with press but would rather crowd the receiver and get in a foot race than hand fight.

Had two pick sixes in 2020. Likes to stay off receivers a little bit to trick the QB into throwing a pass that he can use his speed to jump the route and make a play. A threat when he gets the ball in his hands. Would consider seeing how he does as a returner at the next level.

Had 20 tackles in nine starts. Slim lower body which could cause problems in run support. Not an overly active tackler, would rather the play come to him and he can finsih it from there. Not someone who is going to be known for his hitting. Gets washed out of a play by blockers somewhat consistently. Would rather be a part of a gang tackle.

Comes up quick when there's an open lane to the ball carrier or a blitz, but does display timidness to get in and make a play otherwise. Aggresive with his closing speed on breaks for a ball, but otherwise is conservative in all other aspects.

Capable of playing CB anywhere but seems to be most comfortable on the outside. Does well at knowing when to jump on a route and he's rarely not involved at the catch. Seemed to be trusted by coaching staff to do his consistently and typically left him on an island.
