Team Fit

Bills

Tuszka is a polished edge defender with an arsenal of pass rush moves. His first step is extremely explosive and he's consistently the first player off of his stance on the stap. He has a super high motor and often wins with 2nd and 3rd effort. He's got power in his hands that allow him to shed blockers and he consistently wins the hand fighting battle. WEAKNESSES

Weaknessess

Derreck's tackling in the run game is very suspect. His overly aggressive nature often results in missed tackles and struggles when squared up with shifty backs. His game does not translate as a run defender and struggles to disengage against powerful run blockers.

Big Picture

Derreck Tuszka is likely a rotational pass rusher at the next level. His offensive tackle competition and lack of opposing talent is something that will have teams wary about taking Derreck and earlier than day 3 but his pass-rush ability can't be denied. His polished edge technique was showcased in 2019 with 13.5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss at North Dakota State. If Tuzka can evolve his game and grow into an every-down edge defender, he has starter potential but can at least make an impact on special teams and passing downs.
