More than adequate athleticism. Explosive first step with bend/flexibility to get around the edge or get skinny and dart inside. Very high effort player. Will not stall out on plays and will continue to pursue through the whistle. Strong, violent hands.
Very raw at the position. Needs to refine hands technique and add counter rush moves. Must continue to add to his frame. Still learning blocking schemes and recognizing offenses. Work on gaining leverage.
Robinson is a rare case of starting out as a wide receiver and then moving over to defensive end/Edge halfway through his collegiate career. He has shown improvement year over year and has the athletic traits teams covet at the position but is still very raw. Robinson is an interesting prospect because though his traits are desirable, it is unclear how much more he can develop. His desire and motor suggest that he will continue to work on techniques and play recognition to be more versatile in his utilization. As it stands he is a developmental project who can add to a team's pass rush package rotation and be utilized in the special teams units. Robinson should be available in the early to mid day 3 area of the draft.
Displays solid athleticism. Able to explode side to side and shoot laterally into gaps. Able to bend and fit through tight spaces. Good hips and quick change of direction. Moves well in space. Good body control. Solid frame that has room to build some strength on.
Pass Rush Ability:
Use of Hands
Pass Rush Moves
Big Play Ability
Explosive first step and good ball get off. Raw techniques and limited pass rush moves in the arsenal. Good punch and extension but needs work to utilize hands more to keep blockers off his chest. Inconsistent gaining leverage.
Against The Run:
Very limited versus the run. Too often lets blockers get into him and push him off his spot. Still working on strength and leverage to hold the edge. Quick to cross blocker's face and shoot the gap. Athletic enough to make the play from the backside when he recognizes it.
Set the Edge
Stack and Shed
Gap Shooting Ability
Never gives up on a play. High motor and drive to win the rep. Can split blockers and cause distress early in the play.
Struggles to read the play and recognize blocking schemes. Has stayed on responsibilities at times when better play recognition would have allowed him to adjust and make the play for a loss. Should have special teams value as well as situational pass rusher.
