BAL

Good first step, he can really close the distance to the blocker fast. Has good balance and hip bend that allows him to get around blockers. He is pretty explosive and can shoot gaps quickly, which helps him in the run game. He is a solid tackler, but can definitely caught trying to arm tackle at times. Has decent range and can make plays flowing from either side.

Weaknessess

Doesn't have a wide variety of pass rush moves and only uses one move per play, so if that move gets stuffed he is usually out of the play. There were just too many times he took himself out of making a play. He also likes to use the same move over and over, especially a bull rush. He doesn't play with a lot of strenth and gets stuck trying over power offensive lineman. He also plays a little too high, so rarely has the upper hand when it comes to leverage.

Big Picture

Patrick Jones II is a very intriguing prospect, because he has all the tools needed to be successful and he just hasn't put it all together yet. He needs to develop using more than one pass rush move per play, because it makes him disappear to often, especially against a good O-Line. Once he gets into the NFL he will be playing a good lineman every week, so he has a lot to work on. I think he can be most effective on a team with good a veteran presence, because it will give him a good example of what it takes to be successful and will allow him to develop while still getting playing time. He should be a late 2nd-3rd round pick.
