Team Fit
Bradley-King is a good sized edge rusher and will be above average in his stature at the NFL level. He has great length and uses his length to his advantage when hand fighting at the line of scrimmage. He does a great drop pushing lineman back into the gap and long arming opponents in order to stay in position to make a play while staying out of the control of the opposing lineman. I will keep saying it, his length is going to be a problem at the NFL level. He has great play recognition and he has active eyes when recognizing run or pass. He is able to bat down balls at the line of scrimmage and chase down runners from the back side. He isn’t particularly fast, however, he has great off-the-line explosiveness and uses his size to push back opposing lineman. He will predominantly be a power rusher and use his length and short burst to get separation quickly from defenders.
Weaknessess
Bradley-King isn’t necessarily athletically gifted like pass rushers we have seen come through the draft in the past. He has intangibles in terms of his size, but his athletic ability leaves more to be desired. He’s quick in close space but doesn’t have elite speed to burn defenders off the edge. He doesn’t always use his length to his advantage and allows defenders to get inside on him, making him pass rush ineffective at times. He has great height but needs to learn to stay low off the line otherwise he gets caught up with too much hand fighting. He isn’t laterally quick and moves down the field slow. He is very good in close quarters but as the field stretches, he becomes less and less effective. As I said, his athleticism is going to raise concerns at the next level as an edge rusher. \
Big Picture
Bradley-King could be an exciting pick for a team in this draft. His length is something that can’t be taught and he uses it well. However, his lack of athleticism will prove to be a major issue if an NFL training program is unable to unlock more athletic potential. He measures well in terms of body size and length against other great edge rushers in the NFL. Scouts will love his length which leads to a pretty safe floor if taken as a late round pick. He may see more success as a down lineman and using his length and short burst from the interior. NFL teams begin to utilize more and more pass rushing looks and that leads to good news for Bradley-King. He has potential to rise on draft boards if he can show out in the combine and use the physical testing to prove his athletic potential is much higher than what is shown on the field. I think the safest bet is to bulk up Bradley-King and let him continue to use his length and hand speed to break down the interior. I don't think he will have much of an impact as an NFL edge rusher, but I think if he swiches to an interior defensive lineman, he could have pro-bowl potential. Someone should take a shot on him late in day 3. I expect him to be taken somewhere in the seventh round.
