Strengths
Daviyon has all the physical tools to be an impactful interior lineman in the NFL. He possesses solid size with elite length, good explosiveness, and good functional strength. Has a consistent get off at the snap and is very good at shooting gaps and being disruptive in the backfield. He is very raw so he has a lot of room to grow at the next level.
Weaknessess
He needs to develop in his hand usage. While powerful, they often are ineffective due to placement and timing. He is too long to lose leverage as much as he does. Needs to develop actual pass rush moves. In the run game if he doesn’t blow up the play side, he is completely out of the play on most reps.
Big Picture
Daviyon is someone that should get rotational reps at best his rookie season no matter where he ends up. He projects best as a penetrating 3 technique in an even front, but that will need to be after a season or two of development. His disruptive ability in the run game as well as his pocket pushing ability lend gim to be a 3 down player with more consistency. In a weak 2021 IDL group, he may end up as a late day two selection, but I would prefer to take a shot on his upside in the late 4th or early 5th.

at 6'3 1/8" and 313, he possesses a stout base and his explosiveness shows up on tape. He has some vines for arms and uses them and his power to separate himself from offensive linemen. The athletic numbers don't seem to match up with the film.

Daviyon Nixon is his name, shooting gaps is his game. Hands are powerful when they were used, which was infrequesntly. He is too long to be as consistently outleveraged as he was. he doesn't really have a pass rush arsenal outside of "I'm a better athlete than you and got off of the ball fast" so that area of his game will need refinement.
Against The Run:

If you don't see the theme here he is very raw at the position. He causes a lot of disruption on runs that come his direction because he is consistently in the backfield. For every time he disrupts a play, there are two plays where he completely takes himself out of it. There are times where he will get completely walled off and he cannot shed the block.

His motor runs hot and he is wildly active from snap to whistle. He does not shy away from violence at all. He is extremely disruptive due to his gap shooting ability.

He has a lot of room to grow. Right now he doesn't really seem process much information during the play, but thats more on coaching and how they want him to play vs ability. He can grow into a thre down player with his upside in both the run and passing game. Iowa typically deployed him at 3T on early downs and kicked him into 1T in passing situations.
