Jones possesses excellent size for a 3-Tech defensive tackle at the next level carrying no bad weight on his frame. He is an outstanding overall athlete with great quickness and lateral agility in tight quarters. He is one of the most athletic interior lineman in the class and will destroy pre-draft workouts. Has shown the ability to burst off the line with a clean first step in order to challenge blockers early in the set. Jones has learned how to dominate as an interior pass rusher consistently collapsing the pocket with active hands. He has demonstrated a variety of pass rushing techniques to effectively rush the passer including punches, rips, and clubs, with a small dose of swim and spin moves to break free of blockers. He has consistently shown a nasty cross chop to disengage from blockers to plow into the backfield. He is explosive off the line of scrimmage and can effectively shoot the gap without hesitation disrupting the play in the backfield. He can utilize his length and power to wrap ball carriers up and drag them to ground. He is an excellent open field tackles with unbelievable range for a defensive tackle.
Immediately following the snap, he stands up losing pad level and leverage allowing the opponent to engage his frame. Once they lock his chest, He tends to struggle to disengage with a lack of overall play strength. He is a finesse player who looks to avoid contact and slip blocks rather than bulldoze the pocket. With a lack of power in contact, he struggles to maintain his ground and will often get bullied failing to shed blocks. He struggles to find the ball and can rarely hold the point of attack. Fails to recognize blocking schemes and won't fight through contact to get to the ball carrier. He will often over pursue running too deep into the backfield failing to stay square to the line of scrimmage. He is a liability in the run game. A pure pass rusher who will negatively impact the run defense for his team. He will often lose sight of the ball in traffic and rush the passer without a plan in place. Possesses marginal overall mental processing.
Jones is a fast and athletic defensive tackle who will make a living on passing downs rushing the interior and disrupting the backfield. He is a handful to defend off the line, as he possesses an excellent first step and explosive burst. He will consistently create havoc in the backfield. Possesses exceptional range for a defensive tackle and the flexibility to bend inside and attack the ball. His length and speed combined with fundamental technique as a tackler make it easy to bring ball carriers top to the ground. With a lack of play strength and the lack of leverage he struggles to disengage blocks and attack the ball. He fails to show the ability to shed blocks and find the ball in traffic and will become a liability in run defense. Jones is one of the most intriguing pass rushers in the class and will be an impact player in the passing game, but he will need to be off the field during key running situations at the next level.

Not great straight line speed, as he is an interior lineman carrying 285 pounds, but he exhibits rare burst up the field with the speed to challenge the mobility of opponents. He can vary his speed to surprise blockers throughout the course of a game. Can open up and run for pursuit plays that few interior defenders can make. Mobile quarterbacks outside the pocket are not safe. He gets trampled and contained in contact and loses leverage early in a battle. Struggles to detach from blockers with marginal power and poor pad level.

Really good first step to challenge blockers right off the snap. Will occasionally be late off the ball limiting his ability and taking away his greatest strength. The majority of the time he shows very good quickness to penetrate. He displays powerful punches, chops, and a fierce push-pull combination. Needs to time his punches better to increase the space between him and the blocker, while keeping his chest clean. He stands up immediately after bursting off the line giving away his initial leverage and allowing the opponent to engage his frame. Struggles to disengage with a lack of leverage. Can get small in the hole and shoot the gap in order to collapse the interior. Needs to do a better job of dropping his pads when he corners his opponent as a rusher. A dominating pass rusher on the interior who can consistently collapse the pocket with a variety of punches, rips, and clubs, while sprinkling in swim and spin moves to break free of blockers. He has consistently shown a nasty cross chop to disengage from blockers to plow into the backfield. He lacks the timing and variety on hand usage but has the ability to surprise opponents with quick strikes. Struggles to work off blocks once the O-lineman has his chest. He is a strong tackler who can get power behind his pads. Not an explosive tackler, but often displays good technique to bring ball carriers to the ground. Overall athleticism and range help him reach the quarterback in the pocket. Excellent production as one of the elite interior rushers at the collegiate level. Quick to pressure the quarterback and the talent to collapse the pocket and chase down ball carriers in the open field.
Against The Run:
He has leverage built into his 6'2" frame, but he fails to use it standing straight up in contact and getting bullied once engaged. He struggles in contact with limited play strength despite his 285 pound frame. Not very physical and won't push any lineman off balance. Hand usage in run game is a significant weakness. Excellent first step and outstanding burst off the line combined with his smaller frame give him the ability to slip inside and disrupt the backfield early. Can find open lanes with good vision and mental processing. He struggles to find the ball and can rarely hold the point of attack. Fails to recognize blocking schemes and won't fight through contact to get to the ball carrier. He will often over pursue running too deep into the backfield failing to stay square to the line of scrimmage. He is a liability in the run game. Will fail to stay disciplined and won't fight to break down the line in order to catch the back from behind. Struggles to find the ball, and with poor play strength, he fails to fight off blocks. Not a big hitter by any stretch. Uses good pad level and can drive ball carriers to the ground. Good length and strength help him bring runners to the turf in 1-on-1 matchups. Good open field tackler who will break down and deliver a clean hit.

Needs to add play strength to his frame and play with better pad level ultimately gaining more leverage once engaged. Excellent motor in pass rushing situations and will track down ball carriers in the open field. Fatigued early in games, and slows occasionally taking plays off. Not always consistent with his burst off the line becoming sloppy with his first step. Not a very creative rusher who lacks plans throughout any given play.
Solid instincts as a pass rusher who can find the quarterback and attack the pocket or pursue the ball outside the pocket. Often rushes the passer without a plan in place. Loses the ball in the run game and can't diagnose the play or blocking schemes. Smart player who will use his strengths to win. Lacks vision and the ability to win in the run game. Good team player and leader who possesses a strong motor on the field.
