Strengths
High motor workhorse, plays until he's got his arms around the runner. Very hard hitting tackler, will let up few, if any, broken tackles. Should be able to transition to a primarily 2-tech defender as it fits his strengths very well. Knows his size and how to leverage it very well against blockers. Once he's in a gap, it's extremely hard to push him back. Can come off blockers and get to the outside to cover another area when needed. Quick play recognition and always knows where he's supposed to be. Versatile, and knows how to play any point of the line, and did so at Florida State.
Weaknessess
Doesn't possess the quickness needed to be a pass rusher and keep up with mobile quarterbacks these days. He'll likely have to transition to 2-tech in the NFL because of it, so time to adjust has to come with that. Not very explosive, and has a slower first step than he should. Probably won't ever hit the speed he needs to get into the backfield fast. Needs work on his hand technique to finesses around blockers. Unrefined and a project in pass rushing. Can't always rely on his physical abilities, and needs to learn more pass rush moves. Wilson has injury issues, as he tore his meniscus in high school, and had season ending injuries in 2019 and 2020.
Big Picture
Wilson came into the 2020 season with high expectations after returning to school. He was touted as having a chance to secure the top defensive lineman position, but fell short, partially due to his season ending injury after 6 games. However, he is still quite the talent and will be a good pickup for any team on day 2. His natural tools and athleticism give him a high ceiling. He's developmental in the pass rush game, and may never rack up sacks like some, but he's ready to fill gaps in the NFL and stuff runners. He's got great awareness, and always knows where the ball is. He recognizes the play fast and moves to it to make a hard tackle. He fits very well into a 4-3 scheme and should fill a starting role in a 2-tech position.

Not a dominant athlete, but manageable strength, and stays on top of his game with his movement abilities. Put on needed weight from 2019 to 2020. Very good lateral movement. Stays balanced while sliding down the line and moves his feet quickly without getting overpowered. Pushes hard and is very tough to hold back. Keeps his feet moving and plays very aggressively. Keeps his shoulders square on top of him and doesn't get tripped up.

Doesn't have the fastest first step and gets a little bit delayed because of it. Should be something he can fix in the NFL. Has the raw power and physicality to disrupt the pocket and does it often, but hand placement and rushing technique are far from ideal. He's raw a pass rusher and doesn't have a lot of speed. His struggles with pass rush moves combined with his lack of speed make him ineffective on a lot of plays in pass rush. Due to his ability to move his entire body, however, there are times when he can come off a blocker and put on pressure.
Against The Run:

Expert in using his size to take up double teams and push them back. Can dominate smaller blockers. Takes up entire gaps by himself and knows how to move with blockers still on top of him. He's a true run stuffer, and is at an NFL ready level. Leverages his weight very well. Disengages and chases well on outside runs. Hits hard and wraps up the ball carrier quickly. Doesn't get a lot of tackles for loss, but will hold down nearly an entire side of the line on his own.

Plays until the whistle. Very high motor, will never give up and chases runners downfield. Dominant tackler, doesn't allow guys past him. Will chase the ball carrier down the field past the line of scrimmage.

Seen play from 0-tech to 4-tech, and plays consistently in each position. Mostly plays 3-tech but can shift to wherever needed and does it well. Will likely need to transition to 1-tech due to his pass rush game being underdeveloped. He is a smart player who knows where the balls is. Quickly recognizes the play and moves to where he needs to be.
