Strengths

Jarrett Patterson is very athletic especially with his foot quickness, explosiveness, and strength. The most impressive part about him athletically, is his balance and due to his strong posture. Jarrett can quickly get into a proper blocking stance quickly because of his posture it gives him leverage when blocking defenders. He is quick with his movement in the L.O.S and can open holes. Especially with his awareness when blocking out in space. He can mirror the defenders moves and be an anchor on the o-line. Jarrett is extremely competitive and plays with a strong level of football intelligence.

Weaknessess

Patterson does need to improve on his flexibility as on occasion he has a habit of overextending himself when making blocks. He is decent at pulling to the outside of the line but needs to focus on his footwork as at times can get sloppy. He needs to improve with the counter moves from defenders on their second attempt. Patterson can be sloppy and slow with his hand usage. He needs to focus on punching faster and with handling stunts from defenders. Durability is a concern as he did suffer through a foot injury during the 2020 season.

Big Picture

Jarrett Patterson has the tools to become a starting interior offensive lineman in the NFL. Especially with his athleticism as he has good foot quickness, explosiveness, and strength when blocking defenders. The most impressive part of Jarrett Patterson's athleticism involves his balance. Mainly because he has the posture that any team would want in an offensive lineman which provides leverage when he is blocking defenders. He is extremely quick when moving in the L.O.S and can easily open up holes in the o-line which helps with the run game in any offense. He has strong awareness which helps when tracking defenders while he is lead blocking out in space. He has a strong ability to mirror defenders and can be an anchor on the o-line. He plays with extreme competitiveness and a strong level of football intelligence. A big benefit is that he has strong position versatility as a Guard and Center. He even was a tackle at one point coming into Notre Dame's athletic program as a freshman. He does need to improve on his flexibility as he can overextend himself at times during blocks. He does need to clean up his footwork and hand usage as it can be sloppy at times when blocking defenders. Jarrett needs to speed up the way he punches his hands into blocking position as he can be slow on occasion. Durability is a concern as he did suffer through a foot injury during the 2020 season but it is his only injury to date. Jarrett Patterson has the potential of being a top 20 1st round prospect if he cleans up his weaknesses and stays healthy. As of now I have Jarrett Patterson projected to go in the late 1st or early 2nd round of the draft.

He is consistent and quick with his movement off the L.O.S. He can open up holes both in and out of the L.O.S and can be a strong down blocker. Patterson has a habit over extending himself during run blocks which leads to him on occasion getting overpowered. He is decent at pulling to the outside of the line but needs to focus on his footwork as at times can get sloppy. What is impressive is his ability to adjust in space. Especially when utilizing his level of awareness to properly make the block out in space. He is very sloppy with his hand usage during run blocks.

Patterson can quickly get into a proper blocking stance quickly. With how strong his posture is in blocking position it provides him with a lot of leverage when blocking defenders and helps his ability to mirror the defenders moves which helps contain them. He has the ability of being an anchor on the offensive line. He does a solid job containing defenders who utilize inside moves but needs to improve with the counter moves from defenders on their second attempt. He can be sloppy and slow with his hand usage. When he goes to punch he does a solid job keeping it in the frame of defenders but needs to focus on punching faster.
