Strengths

Dickerson is a big powerful athlete. He is a body banger inside and plays with exciting strength and aggression. He is a human wall that rarely allows any defender through him. He is an excellent run blocker. He has quick and explosive hands. He does a terrific job utilizing his hands inside to create leverage and drive defenders. He takes short choppy steps and keeps his pad level low to create great leverage. He is a bully on the outside. He does a great job pile driving defenders into the turf at the second level. Dickerson is the definition of toughness and is a high motor guy. He is versatile as he can play center and guard at a high level. His ability to communicate, elevates everyone's game around him.

Weaknessess

Dickerson’s lateral agility is limited. His mirror ability is limited. This causes him to struggle against faster pass rushers. He has a tendency to lunge at defenders when reach blocking. He struggles to drive the legs through defenders, which causes stalemates in the hole. He often loses balance in pass protection. Dickerson’s injury history is extremely concerning. He has suffered many season ending lower body injuries and is currently recovering from one now. This raises red flags on Dickerson’s durability.

Big Picture

Dickerson was a stout interior mauler on the Crimson Tide line. He is a mountain of a man. He has explosive and fast twitch hands...once he is engaged there is no escaping. He loves banging bodies on the perimeter and burying defenders in the dirt. The biggest knock on Dickerson is his durability. He suffered a lot of season ending injuries in college, which raises concern on whether he can stay healthy at the NFL level. He also lacks lateral agility, which causes him to lunge and struggles against quicker pass rushers. Dickerson is a high motor and intelligent player. He has a relentless work ethic, which leads to him blocking multiple defenders on one play. If Dickerson can stay healthy he will be a stud at the next level. He can play center or guard at an elite level. He will be a day one starter for the team that drafts him and he will elevate those around him with his communication skills.

This causes him to struggle against quick pass rush moves. He has good explosion, especially at the second level. He struggles with his balance at times. Dickerson is a terrific run blocker. He is a punishing and effective down blocker. He fires out of his stance. His reach blocking is decent, but he struggles at times due to his lack of lateral agility. He is an absolute bully, when he pulls. Numerous times he drove defenders into the ground on the outside. He does a great job adjusting in space and is capable of blocking multiple defenders in a single play. He is violent with his hands and does a terrific job working to get his hands inside to create leverage.

Dickerson is an effective quick set blocker due to his frame and anchor ability. He plays with great leverage, due to his violent hands and low pad level. His mirror ability is decent, but does struggle at times due to his lack of lateral agility. His large powerful frame and explosive hands allow for him to combat inside moves very well.
