Team Fit

Strengths

Clark's best strength is his athletcism and speed. He is a great tackler in open space and really can run down just about anyone. His motor is what NFL scouts look for and he preformed well at LSU anbd during the combine. He is a very good pass covering LB too and will be able to match up with TEs well.

Weaknessess

Clark's biggest weakness is his ability to make plays in close space. He is late when runs are up the middle and hesitates when hiting gaps. Not great at shedding blocks and tends to get bogged down in the action and vanish from the play. He needs to work on his pay recognition becasue he falls for fakes easily.

Big Picture

Clark would fit best as a boundary LB where he can use his raw athleticism to chase down runningbacks. He can play as an occasional edge rusher but would be best as a Will LB with a multiple front in order to maxmize space. Clark is a very good tacjkler and can close in on ball carriers with a large tackling radius. His tackling in open space is made easy by his atleticism but needs to be more physical when tackling inside the box. Clark will need to learn to play with pressure in his face to play in the NFL unless a defense is able to hiude him in a scheme where he can run free. Clark should be a day 2 pick because his athleticism is off the charts. I would say the 3rd round. If a team that really likes him could reach in the second but I don't see it happenign due to his llack of close space physicality. Has potential to be an elite special teams player.

Clark's closing speed and ability to run sideline-to-sideline is some of the best we have ever seen at the college elvel. He can move like a safety and hit like a LB. His playign speed is something scouts will continue to rave about until he's chosen.

Good pass rusher but not great. Can run down mobile QBs with ease and has good timing off th ball. His pass rushing moves could use some work but his athleticism and speed should translate well at the next level to make him a great edge guy.

Coverage:

Clark is a very good pass covering LB. He had fluid hips and does a good job turning and running with receivers. He is big enough to cover TEs and he does not get beat down field often. The biggest issue in the pass game is that he gets beat on short routes due to a lack of route recognition off the line.

Clark is a great run efender but still struggles in close space. effort is unmatched but he still needs to learn to shed blocks and makes plays with the offense in his face. He is timid when playign between the tackles.

Clark has one of the best motors I have seen. Every play he is trying to make plays no matter how far the chase is. He loves the chase. There are games where he runs down defenders 20-30 yards down the field. Every snap is at top speed.

Clark is limited at positions due to his timidness inside the tackles. He can play on the edge or as a protected linebacker, however, MLB is not a good spot for him in the NFL right away.
