Right Knee sprain 2019
USC (2019), Michigan State
He has good size and great hand strength to grip. He is always looking for blocks and has a mauler mentality. He communicates exceptiolly well at the LOS and does not get flustered during stunts. He is always looking for a block to make. He has enough speed and athleticism to get outside the numbers on a screen.
Alaric does not have the quickest feet and his footwork can get sloppy. He struggles to consistently mirror defenders, especially speed rushes outside. He seems a little tight with his hips and struggles to consistently anchor in pass pro. His arms seem a little short to where he does not always get the first punch and can get upright too quick.
Jackson is a four year starter at LT for Iowa. He has a mauler mentality with the size and upper body strength you would want. Without elite speed for a tackle and some high tightness, he would benefit being kicked insight to guard. He struggles to consistently mirror, especially against speed on the outside and can get turned around by exoitic rush moves. He is an excellent communication who does not panic and handles stunts exceptiolly well. He has great upper body and hand strength to grip his defenders. He can get pushed back and struggles to consistently re-anchor himself. He tends to get too high too quick as well, giving up his leverage. When he stays low, he moves defenders with ease. While he would stilll need to work on his lower body strength, a move inside where he can focus on staying low and moving bodies would benefit him. He would be a great back-up option to be pushed outside when needed but I don't think he can handle NFL speed rushers effectively enough. If he can stabalize some of his inconsistnencies, he will be an exceptiol player for a long time.
Alaric relies more on his size than his athletic ability. While not the worst athlete out there, he does not move as easily and turally as other options. He is quick enough to cover the corner well without elite speed. He seems to be a little stiff in the hips though. He does a good job, overall, staying balanced but does tend to get too far forward at times. He does play strong though and uses his tural size to his strength.

Big Play Ability
His big frame is hard to move and get around quickly. In tight spaces, you are not getting around him. He struggles with leg drive but when he has leverage and drives his legs, he can easily move the defender. He can be slow at times to get in position for a reach block and will not quickly be able to get outside and into space. He greatly stuggles getting good blocks outside the numbers. The more space around him, the more he stuggles to successfully block a defender. He does know how to use his hands well. They can be easily knocked away at times though as he often doesn't actually latch onto a defender.
He has enough speed to cover the corner, but can be beat by pure speed. He can get sloppy with footwork at times making it difficult on himself to mirror effectively. Typically, he can re-anchor but often takes longer than elite tackles to successfully reset. He can struggle with inside pass rush moves as well. He can throw a good punch when timed right and knows how to use his hands. His feet will get stuck in the mud at times or have a mental lapse and be too slow to react to a stunt happening in front of him allowing easy access to the QB. He doesn't seem to actually latch onto defenders so he won't get many pelties called on him but makes him more suceptible to a defender being able to get around him.
Ability to Combat Inside Move
As a 4 year starter, he has played through a lot and has rarely missed time. He is fairly consistent in how he plays but does not always play until the whistle blows while there is still improvements to be made to his game. Mentally, he wants to be a mauler but he doesn't domite enough blocks to get there. That mentality is a good value to have, just need to coach him on how to truly domite defenders.
He has learned a lot from all his playing experience. He does seem to have lapses and will react too slowly to a stunt, but genreally communicates well, hands off blocks with ease and doesn't allow much pressure. He has seen and been through a lot and learned how to effectively communicate with his teammates. His playing experience allows him to be moved all around the line, although he has primarily played LT during his career.
