ARI

Athletically ranked in the 99th percentile at his position, only Taylor Lewan and Lane Johnson graded higher amongst active NFL offensive tackles. Bernhard's natural, fluid athleticism offer massive upside. His footwork and redirect ability are top notch and does a tremendous job mirroring against counter/inside moves. The OT features a gliding kickslide to go along with a lightning quick 1st step that allows him to protect the corner with easy.

Weaknessess

Bernhard need to improve his technique as a blocker across the board. His play strength, balance, and leverage as a pass blocker are far below the NFL standard and he will struggle against powerful/lengthy bull rushers. Raimann's hands are inconsistent and he lacks any form of a punch. Takes bad angles when climbing into the second level, tends to get laxidasical and lost in space. Does show much in regards to aggression and doesn't possess the mauler mentality.

Big Picture

Former TE turned OT with only 18 games under his belt, Bernhard has all the athletic intangles to play offensive tackle at the next level but with his limited experience, he's a developmental player that's going to need time to refine his craft. All that said, the upside and ceiling are undeniable and he will be a tremendous consolation prize for any tackle needy team who misses out on the clear cut top 4 offensive tackles. Best suited for a zone blocking scheme that will allow him to properly utilize his athleticism. Due to the high positional value, Raimann could certainly sneak into the first round of the draft but should be considered a day two guy with 1st round physical abilities.

Athleticism:

Raimann is arguably the most athletically gifted offensive lineman to come out of the draft in years. His footwork for a 300 pounder is outstanding but he will need to improve upon his well proportioned but slender frame and lack of play strength/physicality. Often struggles with staying on his feet, relies on momentum, and gets caught leaning too far over his knees at the point of attack, making it difficult for him to maintain his blocks.

Big Play Ability

As an in-line 1-on-1 blocker, Bernhard consistently wins with quickness and burst, beating defensive linemen to the point of attack and using his active feet to create movement off the line of scrimmage. Although Raimann is a stellar athlete, he struggles to win the body positioning battle when reach blocking and tends to over run blocks when climbing into the second level. Hand usage and grip strength are adequate but he struggles to finish his blocks.

Pass Blocking:

7.13

The Central Michigan OT's short area quickness and ability to transfer momentum with ease will be his ticket to the NFL. Rarely do you see an offensive tackle be able to redirect as quickly as Raimann does, as long as he continues to grow both physically and technically, Bernhard has a chance to be one of the better pass protectors in the league. His anchor ability against explosive rushers is a cause for concern and will be dependant on him addiing mass and improve his upper body strength. His pass set and knee bend are decent but his pad level is inconsistent and loses the leverage battle because of it.

Competitiveness:

Raimann's effort and energy should be considered elite. His motor is full throttle from the first play to the last with no signs of fatigue. His relentless attack often wears on rushers throughout the game. The attitude and meanstreak are definitely lacking, as the OT rarely finishes his blocks, settling for stalemates, and winning in lackluster fashion but winning nonetheless.

It's clear on film that the man is still learning the position. He looks lost at times, missing oncoming blitzers, stunts, and lacks overall awareness. Raimann's instincts as a blocker, communication with his IOL, and ability to read defenses will have to drastically improve at the next level.
