Team Fit

Elite size is the key to any success for any offensive line prospect. Burton has great hands and works well in short space when he can quickly engage with defenders. He always retains great body position and is always staying active when looking for players to block. He has very active feet which is a great quality in a lineman this size and attacks his assignments. Despite Burton's large frame, he shows flashes of athleticism that make him a potential tackle prospect if he can improve working in space.

Weaknessess

Burton has size but with size, generally comes some lack athleticism and speed. If he had these other intangibles, then he would be a top 5 prospect. He is a very talented lineman, however, Burton lacks foot speed in open space and is unathletic as a pulling interior lineman. He has a bad tendency to stand tall when blokcing and does not get good leverage as a blocker. His inability to get better as an athlete and improve foot speed is what limits his upside at the next level.

Big Picture

Burton was a large part of of Joshua Kelley's breakout season that led to him being a top RB prsopect in last year's NFL draft. Burton is not a very popular name among draft scouts but he is well known in the PAC-12. Burton transferred to Baylor after a four seasons at UCLA. He started all eight games at Baylor, who struggled as a team last season. Burton goes unnoticed by most scout because he doesn't do anything great, but he also never does anything wrong. He's been a cornerstone of any offensive line he's been on and his sheer size alone is attractive to any NFL scouts. Burton has shown to be a good athlete but speed rushers on the inside will be able to get by him with relative ease. If Burton can work on his foot speed and overall athleticism, he can be a great addition to any NFL o-line. Burton will more than likely be an Undrafted Free Agent. Someone could take a shot on him in late day 3 but I wouldn't hold my breath. Burton can be a productive back up guard at the next level.
