Team Fit

CIN

JAX

NYG

A tough minded competitor who tries to keep up. Flashes of power at the point of attack are there. Experienced as a four year starter at right tackle. Consistent motor and desire to win reps.

Weaknessess

Extremely limited athlete with low fundamentals to offset the athletic governors. Football IQ is not present at this time. Strength in pass game is nonexistent. Trouble containing quicker pass rushers. Virtually no position versatility. Inconsistent flashes of tools. Hands need to get stronger.

Big Picture

Curhan is an undrafted, rookie minicamp invite (if those are a thing this year) at best. He just doesn't have the athleticism nor the consistent strength to play at the pro level. Absolute best case scenario is that he becomes a developmental backup swing guard or tackle with some years on the practice squad.

Athleticism:

6.5

7.25

Underwhelming athleticism. Shows very little in terms of upper and lower body flexibility, cannot bend at the hips whatsoever. Below average in lateral agility, particularly in pass block situations. There's no explosion to speak of, a slow burn when he has to get to the second level. Plays with no balance and is easily knocked off kilter by defenders. Functional strength is lacking. If he isn't beaten laterally, he is often bull rushed back into the passer. It seems like he is just content to "exist" instead of enforcing his will on the defender.

Big Play Ability

Blocks at an adequate level in line but is abysmal when he is required to move around laterally and to the second level. Don't ask him to pull block because he cannot execute it at a consistent level due to a lack of athleticism. Struggles to adjust in space when asked. Hands are subpar as he connects but fails to impact the defender in any capacity. Doesn't seek out second level targets often and when he does, it's an adventure.

Pass Blocking:

5.5

Lack of athleticism is really apparent as he struggles to fire into quick sets. Protects the corner at an average rate but the quicker and bendy pass rushers have had a field day against as he cannot consistently reset and counter their moves. Mirroring presents some difficulties due to poor to below average footwork and a lack of knee bend. Struggles to reset his feet and adjust his anchor on a repeated basis. Average to mediocre when tasked with handling stunts and inside counter moves. Flashes of power in hands but not enough to merit any sort of credit. Not a knockout artist by any means.

Competitiveness:

Despite clear athletic limitations, the dude competes on every rep or attempts to. Motor is always running, even if it leads to nowhere relevant. Not the purest of road graders and he can be questioned due to the lack of impact blocks on his resume.

Intelligence:

Communication is above average in terms of passing off blocks to teammates. Subpar in handling counters and assorted stunts from edge rushers. Position versatility is quite limited due to the fact he was the starter at right tackle for the past four years.
