Strengths

Athletic and big body QB that can improvise outside of the pocket and make plays happen with his legs and sometimes his arm. When on the move, he has a good amount of speed and agility to avoid a defender in space. When a clean pocket is given to him, he can step up and make accurate throws. Best at hitting the deep ball with good accuracy and touch. Has a strong arm so there is no issue with him pushing the ball down the field. Was able to flash his arm talent at making off balance throws with a defender in his face.

Weaknessess

Going through his full progressions at a consistent rate is not clearly there. Finding the 2nd or 3rd options did not happen enough. When clear pressure was brought by the defense, he tended to bail out of the pocket and try to make a play happen with his legs. Short and intermediate accuracy was not always present, and a decent number of throws were missed in that area.

Big Picture

A multi-talented QB that can make plays with his legs and his arm. When it comes to the passing game, this QB has a strong arm to push the ball down the field to his intended receivers. The touch and accuracy will flash in the deep balls, but intermediate throws do need some more work. The ball does come out of his hands quickly with his side-arm like throwing motion. In drop backs, his footwork certainly needs some work. Will get sloppy and inaccurate throws will result because of it. If a play does break down, the ability to make a play happen with his natural athleticism is there. However, relying on improvising with his legs happens too much at times when scanning the field. Tends to tuck and run if his first or second reads are not open. Decision making will need to improve down the road and trusting the pass protection more as stated before. Continuing to trust his eyes when going through his full progressions will allow him to take that next step in his development.

Athleticism:

7.65

The ability to scramble out of the pocket with explosive speed and agility is present in his play. This is a QB that uses RPOs or play action plays to set up a big gain down the field. When running with the football, he does have the elusiveness to win 1 on 1 matchups with a defender in space. Defenses have to play the threat of a run with this QB, especially when escaping out of the pocket. Does have quick mobility inside the pocket to avoid clear rushers and get to that outside lane.

Footwork in his drop backs tend to be off balance and sloppy. Poor footwork does affect the accuracy and touch of his throws. However, this is a QB that was able to make a decent amount of accurate off-balance throws when on the move. There is a quick release in his throwing motion, but his throwing mechanics and delivery of the football could improve. Much more of a side arm throwing QB. When it comes to short and intermediate throws, there were a decent number of balls that were off target by a few yards. When clear time is available inside the pocket, he can step up to hit those intermediate and short-range throws. This is a QB that has a good arm strength to hit targets deep down the field. There were many times where he was able to hit a deep route with very good touch and accuracy. Wants to make big plays happen but more tends to happen with his legs instead of his arm.

When given a clean pocket to deliver a strike, this QB would take advantage of the timing and space. Will stand tall with go poise to make a throw. The improvisation ability is there but he tends to rely on in it too much. There is a lot of production in his career but needs to keep improving when it comes to passing mechanics.

Good instincts at the QB position to make plays happen for his team. Would not always go through his full progression to find that second or third WR. Instead, he would bail out of the pocket after his first read and try to make a big play happen with his legs. A worry of consistency when making decisions and reading the entire field is there. Very little pre-snap adjustment in his game, will have to improve that aspect of his game at the next level.
