Strengths
Displays solid footwork and good mechanics as a passer. Has a very quick release that he can execute from a few varied arm angles. Has a strong presence in the pocket and maneuvers well within it while always keeping his eyes downfield. Has the accuracy to make the eye popping throws in tight windows and has the confidence to attempt them regularly. He throws his targets open and places the ball where they can make a play after the catch. Can work through progression quickly if his initial read is not available.
Weaknessess
Not going to win any foot races and is limited in mobility when forced outside of the pocket. Accuracy also wanes some when he is on the move outside of the pocket. Possesses adequate arm strength but does tend to float passes that need to be more on a rope. Ttoo often stares down his primary read.
Big Picture
Zappe is coming off of a historic season in terms of production. He accomplished this in a high volume offense which best utilized his tools. He is deadly accurate in the short and intermediate ranges. He has deep accuracy as well but struggles at times to hit them with the proper velocity. Stands strong in the pocket
