Strengths
The biggest thing that jumps out when watching Jackson is his tremendous arm strength. He easily has one of the best arms in the draft and is a major threat to throw the deep ball. His size is also an amazing quality to look at for a quarterback as he officially measured at 6'7", 249 pounds at the Senior Bowl. Jackson also gives tremendous production both as a passer and a runner. His rushing yards went down in his senior year but he still scored seven rushing touchdowns and his size makes him a huge threat to run the ball in short yardage/goal line situations.
Weaknessess
Jackson seems to force passes at times which can be concerning for coaches. He can tend to try to use his arm strength to create home run plays even when it isn't there. This leads to interceptions and incompletions. If he can improve on this, his consistency will improve with it, making him an even better pro prospect
Big Picture
Tyree Jackson was a three-year starter at Buffalo after redshirting his freshman year. Following a successful junior year, he declared early for the 2019 NFL Draft after reportedly considering transferring from Buffalo. In his redshirt freshman season, Jackson started nine games and finished with 1,772 passing yards with nine touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also had 399 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Jackson came into his sophomore season as the starting quarterback and even with missing four games due to injury, he finished with 2,096 yards for 12 touchdowns and three interceptions, along with 197 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. There was a lot of high expectations going into Jackson's junior year as he was named to the Davey O' Brien Award watch list for the nation's top quarterback. Jackson had an outstanding final season as he finished with 3,131 passing yards for 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, with 161 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns while leading the Bulls to a berth in the Dollar General Bowl where they lost to Temple 42-32. His performance earned him First Team All-MAC honors and an invite to the Senior Bowl since he was technically in college for four years. Jackson is a very intriguing prospect at the next level. His size and arm strength, along with his mobility will grab the eyes of NFL scouts and coaches. I have him being drafted between the laet second-fourth rounds but his stock could easily rise with good performances at the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine.

Athleticism:

Has a good amount of quickness for his size that he uses to escape the pocket and make plays as a runner. Shows that he has decently loose hips and is fluid as a runner for his size. Can lower his shoulder when needed. Uses his quickness to get around the edge when scrambling out of the pocker. Hasn't shown as much on film as far as stopping on the dime and changing direction. Has a great amount of speed for his size which he uses to pose as a threat as a runner in the open field. Can escape the pocket with ease and uses his size and quickness to make defenders miss. He is very difficult to bring down on first contact.

Is able to flip his hips and get the ball out quickly for shorter routes. Was used in a lot of play action/RPO situations which required him to get the ball out quickly. Has decent delivery skills, can add some much needed zip on passes into coverage. Can get better at this aspect at the next level. Puts the ball to where the receiver can catch it. Most short pass incompletions are due to drops by the receiver. Is able to put enough zip on the ball to make completions in traffic in the middle of the field. His best accuracy is in the intermediate passing game. Has good deep ball accuracy, leads his receivers to where only the can make the catch. Incompletions are due to over throwing. He shows a great ability to make the big time throws when his team needs him the most. Can force throws at times which leads to interceptions and incompletions. Easily has one of the best arms in the draft. Has decent drops but there is still room for improvement at the next level.

His size allows him to make throws while taking on contact. Is never afraid to scramble out of the pocket and take on defenders. Truly takes control of the offense. They look to him when the need a big play. Is able to stand strong in the pocket and make throws under pressure and with contact from defenders. Always plays with a high motor but can lack consistency in his throws throughout the game at times. 2018: 3,131 passing yards, 28 TD, 12 INT; 171 rushing yards, 7 rushing TD. Can scramble out of the pocket and make throws on the run when the protection breaks down.

Knows when to take off and run when protection breaks down and makes good reads in RPO situations. Seems to diagnose coverages well and attack in the soft spots. Also does a good job at noticing a blitz and getting the ball out of his hands in time to avoid sacks. Makes good decisions for the most part but can force throws at times. When he makes mistakes, he comes back the next play and corrects them.
