Strengths
Williams has solid lateral agility and explosiveness when running in and out of the pocket.. He loves to challenge defenders with how he balances during contact and when making blocks. Williams has solid field vision and ball security. Kyren has great hands and can catch any ball that comes his way. He has the ability to make great plays in space. Kyren is a very good pass and lead blocker. Williams has a great ability to block in space in the second level. Williams has great technique as a pass blocker and is quick to pick up the blocks. He puts a lot of effort into making blocks and is willing to give the quarterback extra time. Strong instincts when running and catching the football. Williams does have position versatility as either a pass catching back, a third down running back, or as a blocker.
Weaknessess
Williams is not the most elusive runner and must be more consistent with his explosiveness. He is not the most speedy running back. but must work on his cutting ability as he can get sloppy and it shows with his hip fluidity. Williams is not a power back and does not have the best leg drive. Williams also must be better with lowering his pad level. Williams can be sloppy with his route running and must clean up his footwork. He must do a better job creating separation between him and defenders. Kyren has a habit of being too patient and missing certain opportunities. He also has durability concerns as he dealt with shoulder and a toe injury through his college career.
