Strengths

Harris is a big and strong dynamic athlete. His ability to get in and out of cuts with his size is astonishing. He has the explosion and the cutting ability to break every run for a big gain and turn nothing into something. He does a tremendous job of lowering his shoulder pads at contact and violently driving the legs to finish off runs. His contact balance is one of the best in this year's draft class as he rarely goes down on the first hit. He possesses a low center of gravity, which allows him to shed tackles with ease. His vision and patience as a runner, allows for blocks and running lanes to develop. He is a legit receiving threat. He has strong hands and has the ability to make defenders miss at the second level. He is a high motor and tough back, who is not afraid of contact and falls forward on every run play.

Weaknessess

Harris at times is indecisive at the line of scrimmage. He also has a tendency to try and break every play for a home run instead of sticking his head down and picking up what he can. He also is a liability in pass protection. Harris struggles to pick up blitzes and edge rushers. He lunges at the defender, instead of engaging and getting his hands inside. Harris has a tendency to utilize his body to secure passes, instead of utilizing his hands. He takes an enormous amount of punishment on his body, this raises a red flag on his longevity in the NFL.

Big Picture

Harris is in the conversation of being the best running back in this year's class. He is a big, strong and gritty running back who possesses elite athletic tools and runs with authority. He possesses the ability to run through, run by, run around and leap over defenders. His rare combination of size and wiggle makes him dangerous to any defense he faces. His contact balance for a big running back is one of the best. He can absorb hits and maintain his balance to keep plays alive. His patience as a runner allows for plays to develop. His ability to read the defense, allows for him to break off chunk plays at any time. His abilities as a pass catcher are exciting. He has strong hands and creates separation from the defender. Once the ball is in his hands and he is in open space...sit back and enjoy the show. He is a human highlight reel at the second level. Harris plays with a lot of heart and does not shy away from contact. Harris will have to improve his technique as a pass protector as coaches at the NFL level place a premium on this skill. He is an every down back, who can do it all. Harris will most likely be a day one pick and will immediately make an impact for the team that drafts him.

Blocking is the weakest part of Harris's game. He was rarely asked to lead block, but looked lost in space. Has to learn to keep the defenders inside shoulder on his outside shoulder. At times he showed ability to pass protect, but often whiffed or was easily pushed away. However, he did show effort and willingness to block.
