Strengths
Goodson has strong lateral agility and can get to a fast top end speed. He is elusive when evading defenders trying to tackle him. Goodson has solid field vision and is smooth at making cuts. He can get to proper pad level to keep the drive going. Goodson has strong ball security and has only had 4 fumbles throughout his college career. He has a strong ability to make an impact on space. Goodson is willing to put in an effort to make blocks and give the QB more time. He does a decent job blocking in space and as a lead blocker. Goodson can be productive as a blocker, runner, and as a pass catching back. Goodson plays with toughness, with a motor, and has versatility as a running back and even at times lined up as a slot receiver.
Weaknessess
Goodson has to be more explosive and work on his contact balance as he can easily go down once he gets tackled. Goodson is not a powerback as he doesnt have the leg drive to push for extra yards. Goodson has an overeliance on making body catches and is not the best route runner. Goodson must do better when he creates seperation from defenders. He needs to improve on his blocking technique as he does not have the best posture and has a habit of overshooting his hands. Goodson does need to be more consistent with his patience as he has a habit of rushing his way through the line where he could have waited for an opportunity to arrive. Durability is a concern as he dealt with a Ankle and Foot injury in college.
