Peters is a very instinctive safety who reads defenses well and reacts quickly. He is dangerous when he gets his hands on the ball and and closes on the ball well for a safety that does not have elite speed. Strong hands for a DB. He is a big bodied S and does a great job shedding blockers and fighting off defenders to make a play. Extremely aggressive in the run game and tries to make plays. Great motor and can compete with big WRs and TEs which may land him a down safety role in the NFL, similar to Jamal Adams if he can beef up more.
Weaknessess
Peters sometimes falls asleep in coverage when he is covering a last read WR. He is inconsistent in the run game when trying to shed blcoks but overall does well. He needs to work on his pursuit angles and finish tackles more on bigger RBs. Although instinctual, he sometimes relies on his instincts too much and it gets him in trouble. He is very ahnds on WRs down field and that will lead to a lot of penalities at the NFL level. He likes to try and bait QBs into make deep throws but it does not always work in his favor. Needs to put on some more weight and gain more body flexibility to compete with fast twitch WRs.

Big Picture
Peters is a solid prsopect who has upside to be a good safety ad an elite special teams ace at the next level. He would most likely be used to add depth at the next level and play on a special teams unit. Peters was never a starter at Auburn and generally filled in as a role player which leads to some mystery for this NFL safety prsopect. He is an exceptional athlete and is a high-risk, low-reward prospect come the 2021 NFL Draft. He continued to get better each and every year at Auburn so there is no reason to think he won't continue to improve his game. Only three safeties in last year's NFL draft showed the same elite explosiveness and jumping ability in their combine stats. Peters should get drafted, if not as an every down safety, as a special teams ace given his five blocked kicks throughout his colelgiate career. He can be a Matthew Slater type of player but will help in the secondary as a role player as well. He lacks elite speed and that makes scouts shy away. He will most likely be a late day 3 pick who could go undrafted.
