Ballhawking FS who has the instincts, closing quickness, and ball skills to be a turnover magnet at the next level. Overcame a rough last year with all kinds of obstacles to put himself back into a position to be draft. Willing and able run defender who takes strong pursuit angles. Is not afraid to fight off blocks to corral ball carriers.
Weaknessess
He needs to gain consistency with his tackling mechanics as they are the only trait holding him back from being an elite level FS. He has a bad tendency to go for the big hit or dive at the ball carrier’s ankles rather than consistently breaking down and securing the tackle. His aggressiveness in coverage can get him in trouble as QBs baited him into jumping underneath routes and then throwing deep passes over his head.

Big Picture
After taking the unprecedented route of signing with the XFL, St. Louis Battlehawks, Robinson is ready to make history by being the only player to be drafted from that league to the NFL. He has all the traits coaching staffs look for in an FS, and the upside to improve upon his weaknesses with an NFL caliber DB coach. I could see a team taking a chance on him at the end of round 3, but more likely early round 4. Teams that should be interested in him are the Steelers, Eagles, Patriots, and Browns. His playing style reminds me of John Johnson.

Quality athlete who is at his best sitting back as the deep third safety scanning the field like an eagle on pray. He has very good straight-line speed and takes sound pursuit angles to get himself in a strong position to secure the tackle or make a play on the ball. He is smooth and balanced in his backpedal and does not display any hitch in his transition to a trail position. He has very good closing quickness to enhance his processing skills which allows him to gravitate to the ball quickly. Not an overly explosive athlete rather a quality all-around athlete.

Great coverage ability whether in man or zone. He uses his speed, lateral agility, and play recognition to put himself in positions of strength. In man coverage, he has the length and speed to carry coverage downfield on WRs and TEs and will be physical with them throughout the catch point. In zone is where he truly shines as he sits back at FS and scans the field and then closes to the ball with a high rate of success. Can be fooled by play action though and nuanced QBs can bait him into jumping underneath routes while WRs get behind him. He is able to backpedal and transition without losing much speed and stays balanced throughout which doesn't allow his assignment much time to separate.
