Blitzalytics Analysis

Line Ohio State (-16) Over/Under 57 Against the Spread - Wisconsin (7-5) Ohio State

(9-3)

The Big 10 Championship game is a rematch of the game that saw the Buckeyes dominate that Badgers 38-7. There are three bona fide Heisman Trophy candidates in this game in Justin Fields, Chase Young, and Jonathan Taylor. This is almost certainly a play-in game for the College Football Playoff. Ohio State is among the leaders in scoring offense, scoring defense, YPG on offense and YPG allowed. Wisconsin also has a borderline elite defense.

The Degenerate Menace Says: It is hard not to look past the previous game when making this decision. Ohio State is clearly the faster, more physical team on both sides of the ball. If we use intuition and take the 31 point margin of victory and subtract it by the standard home field advantage number of 3, we would still bet a 28 point margin which is well above the line. It probably would have a similar result even if Justin Fields were to aggravate his knee injury from the Michigan game. This is probably not going to be an interesting game to watch from a competitive standpoint.

Prediction: Ohio State 35 - Wisconsin 7
