Blitzalytics Analysis

Line Florida (-14.5) Over/Under 51.5 Against the Spread - Virginia (7-6) Florida (8-4)

Virginia will be facing its second consecutive game with a top-notch defense as they play the University of Florida in the Orange Bowl. Bryce Perkins has his problems with fast defenses as Clemson limited him to 17 points in the ACC Championship game. Florida comes with a good resume going 10-2. Their only two losses were to the participants in the SEC championship game in LSU and Georgia. Kyle Trask was a more than adequate replacement for Felipe Franks by completing 68% of his passes for a 24-6 ratio.

The Degenerate Menace Says: It is hard to look past Virginia’s performance against Clemson. The Cavaliers were down 31-7 at the half and then allowed another 31 in the second while only scoring one more touchdown. While Florida’s offense is not as potent as Clemson’s, their defense is equally as capable of putting their offense in good positions. The fact that Virginia’s 9-4 is based on a weak schedule and the Gators are playing a de facto home game in Miami gives all the indications of another blowout.

Prediction: Florida 35 - Virginia 17
