San Francisco 49ers (1-4) vs. Green Bay Packers (2-2-1)

Preview

This game was scheduled to be a big-time matchup featuring Jimmy Garoppolo vs. Aaron Rodgers, with the expectation that these teams would be much better off than they currently are. The 49ers lost Jimmy Garoppolo for the year and their coveted free agent signing Richard Sherman has been dealing with injuries. The Packers have gotten off to a poor start that has featured an injured Aaron Rodgers. This game won’t be what we expected, but it is still an interconference matchup that could be important for playoff standings.

Players to watch

The 49ers have guys banged up left and right. However, these guys still get paid to play, and will have an opportunity to play on Monday Night Football. Linebacker Fred Warner may get another opportunity to start with Reuben Foster dealing with injuries. Alfred Morris will be asked to carry the rushing load with Matt Breida leaving last week's game with an ankle injury. The show, however, is still all about Aaron Rodgers and how he will progress with his leg injury. The 49ers are tied for the most touchdowns given up to tight ends, so this may be the game Jimmy Graham really gets going.

Prediction

It is said that anything can happen on any given Sunday. However, this game will be played on a Monday. The 49ers have too many injuries to keep up with the Packers. Add in the fact that this is a prime time game at Lambeau Field, and this just does not bold well for the 49ers. In short, this will end up being a one-sided contest. The Packers will find a way to win this one as they look to keep things close in the NFC North.

Final Score: Packers 27, 49ers 17
